FREE. 6-8 firepits. No firewood provided. There was 10 other RVs. You can park away from others and enjoy silence SOME HAVE BEEN HERE LONGER, I have been here a few days but I am going to be here long term,
MY travel trailer is a 31 ft long;
Locals are fishing trout here.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
I am still here and this place is very quiet, I have not used the bathrooms yet and don't plan on it. price is free
Everyone can camp where they want too, and it looks like in the past snowbird have camped here all winter, with prices and houses the way they are of course people, choose to live in their trailers including me.
There were 3 trailers staying there this winter. And before the snow started to come it was OK to stay there all winter. But now everyone has to leave there. There is no longer camping there . It is just day use only! So I guess there no point in anyone going there to stay a night or 2. I guess the SNOWBIRDS/ Regular people won't like this. And I myself helped the county by removing an abandoned trailer that was left behind. And cleaned the whole area where it was located. And this is the thanks I get!!! I suggest people should BOYCOTT THIS PLACE! SEVERNS DAM WHEATLAND COUNTY!
Report Check-InGreat spot. To be alone and quiet go on left dam side, for bigs rigs and locals party go on right side ! Many choices , Many Moods !
A lot of space all around the lake, pit fire, garbage and austere pit toilet. Be careful water lake is no drinkable/swimmable because toxic seaweed (signs at the entrance)
Very calm and sweet free camping spot with a lot of tables and fire pits. Even if there was a whole bunch of locals camping, there was still a lot of room. Pit toilets not in excellent condition but ok.
Report Check-InEast shore occupied by about 6 campers, obviously permanent residents. Strange atmosphere, we didn’t stay.
Report Check-InWe parked on the far side of the dam and unfortunately had trouble with someone who we assume was homeless, felt unsafe and left. I am thinking this was just unlucky. Would have felt safer on the other side where there are a number of RVs. Other than this it was a great spot with picnic tables and a lovely view
Report Check-InThere were 9 RVs on the near side of the dam and only one truck camper on the far side. There one vault toilet on each side - take your own light even in daytime and hand sanitizer. The toilet was clean with plenty of toilet paper and no smell. We heard no noise from other campers. Turns out this is a birding hotspot - about 30 pelicans, so it must be good for fishing too. Also a couple types of swallows, red winged blackbirds, herons, eared grebes, some ducks and geese.
Report Check-InNice free spot by the water fire pits piknik tables very quiet safe travels
Report Check-Inreally beautiful place! we spend one night on our way To drumheller. free, wild, clean and quiet! A lot of vr together, but some place in the other side. 2 pit toilet, one each side of the lake. No trees so could be really hot (20° for us today so it was perfect). Many locals in the morning went fishing quietly. Respect the place, be clean and quiet! I think the lake could be swimmable! I would come again and again!! 🥰
Report Check-InLooks great, very quiet on a Friday night. We stayed on the other side from the RV group. They didn't even start their generators until 9am and only for an hour. It is perfect. A little windy with no real cover
Report Check-InGreat location, plenty of fish jumping many beautiful birds and a few curious gophers
We parked the opposite side of the mass gathering of fifth wheels with generators which could be faintly heard in the distance.
Easy access as far as the bathrooms then it gets hilly and could be a problem to get out after a rainy night
Bathrooms were clean but you’ll need a flashlight
I would recommend the spot
Fishing Lake, primarily for day use. Good boat launch. Need to check Whealtandcounty.ca for fire ban info or you campfire might be put out when there is a full fire ban on.
Report Check-InJoli petit lac pour pêcheurs et camping gratuit. Propre, calme, bbq... A preserver!
Report Check-InNice spot for a quick overnight trip to Drumheller. Lots of big campers on one side so we went to the opposite side to get some privacy but it was too windy for a fire. Still got a great night’s sleep in a nice quiet (albeit windy) site.
Report Check-InWow! What a gem! Beautiful sunset, nice spot. Lots of room for all size rigs. Finding flat spots was a challenge. Nice people pretty much living here full time. No problem to stop for a night.
Report Check-Infree as described. appears like some are squatting though on the west side.
Report Check-InGreat spot. Wide open as others have said. There is a dock and what looks like a boat launch but no motorized boats are permitted. Stayed here one night, no one else around.
Report Check-Instayed one night. large garbage bins. fire pits. nice gravel roads in and on some sites. can be very muddy and slippery in the rain. full LTE on Telus. no trees so plenty of sun for solar but also windy.
Report Check-InAs described. Great place with a small lake. Plenty of space to park. There are firepits in certain locations but you can park anywhere.
There were 11 of us here while we stayed and it was not crowded.
- Pit toliets were clean.
- Gravel road to get here was in great shape. easy access.
-- Room for big rigs, full size bus was our closed neighbor.
Dream big - Live small - Travel endlessly
Report Check-InWell described by others. A bit though to navigate to a site if already dark, but very good overall.
Report Check-InVery nice and quiet, easy to get to. Peaceful place would come back for sure.
Report Check-InWonderful spot for one night or for a little while. Seems to be a peaceful fishing spot with your typically beautiful marsh birds.
Tables, fire pits and two pit toilets located on each side of the lake/pond, and yes, it’s free!
This was a lovely little lake teaming with bird life. Nice quick get away from Calgary at about a 70 minute drive or so. Very picturesque. There is a sort of group camping spot if you’re with a larger group. But there are lots of sites if you’re on your own and they offer lots of space. Great little fishing hole. Bathrooms had toilet paper!
Report Check-InFREE. 6-8 firepits. No firewood provided. There was 8 other RV's. You can park away from others and enjoy silence next to the lake. Whats the deal with running generators 24/7 and loving to be max 2 meters apart from each other? :)Can be muddy when raining. Locals are fishing trout here.
