Good stop, nothing crazy good, but good enough for a one-nighter. Wifi is good enough, toilets open all night (we think), loud from 6 am. Showers were only cold though so we ended up not using them

Report Check-In

We spent the night WAY out back to dodge the excessive dust. Parked near the abandoned bus. No one bothered us for a quiet night.
Gas and diesel for sale. No water available. Did not check facilities.

Campervan with pop-up roof and a dog

Safe place to stay and kind staff. We stayed in front of the administration because there are cameras (advices by staff). Because of our pop up roof it was noisy at night. Further good place! We could fill our watertank but it isn’t potable. Not really a good WiFi connection but good enough to receive and send messages by WhatsApp or email.

Hot water has been fixed and everything was nominal. Tried to find a better (quieter) spot but the small park between the two buildings won out. Able to charge devices and nice having a camera watching the tent and bike. The restaurant next door was INCREDIBLE and a three course meal for 5,600CLP

Old Copec with a big parking space full of trucks. Showers are often cold and they ask you 1000 pp anyway. No signal with Entel but Wi-Fi close to the bathrooms.

For us the wifi was very fast. Downloaded a season of Netflix. Bathrooms clean. We didn’t use the showers. No problem to stay here overnight. We parked behind the copec in a big sandy area (not the nicest or cleanest) but quieter than the front area

First stop coming from Bolivia (ollague border) . In this place I could feel the difference between Chile and bolivia. Chile is a very good country. Good quality in their roads. Crédito card every where. Shower for 1000.
The place feel secure and good internet for the night.

Good for one night. Only snacks. Quiet after sunset. Toilets were clean. Secure.

Great for a one nighter. We showered, took the vehicle (with roof tent) all the way to the ghost town at the end of the dirt track behind the gas station. Very quiet, especially for a Saturday night!

Showers reasonably clean; WiFi a bit slow.

Paid 1000 pesos for each shower.

We did not only sleep behind the Copec station (as mentioned by an other Overlander), but could also refill the water tank of our van for free.

Behind the station you can drive a bit into the desert to get away from the noisy road.

Small Copec gas station indeed, with a shop and banjos/shower. As said before can confirm good showers and clean toilets. Fuel prices are good (especially because you are in the desert). We parked just past the fuel pumps, there's a huge parking space for trucks. Very quiet at night, would recommend. Also the ghost town 5 km's further on is certainly worth a visit.

we came to this copec to fill the fueltank and we did our email staff. For an overnight stay we moved an on highway nr. 5 too the 4,5 km away ruinas chacabuco. A goost town and it was also a prisoncamp when pinoche was in charge. We arrived at 6 pm and it was going to be closed. So we stayed here over night beside the entrance. pos. s23.14425 w69.61591. And we visited the town the next morning after 9.30 hr.

Does the job. The manager set the time to set up my tent after 20:30 and to just have it down before 8:00. Couldn't ask for much else. Some sand and trees to sleep on before reaching Calama mañana. Cycling btw.

(on bicycle) This place was an oasis on a hot day. Ice cream available in both of the two stores, cold water to drink, shady spot to rest under trees, free air pump, decent free WiFi. I tent camped in the sand behind the wall of the rest spot and didn't get bothered. The guy in the store with the baños let me charge my phone.
