Description

Dry, free camping for up to 5 days. As you come up on the gravel road there is almost every turnoff signposted. Look for the sign 30312 and follow the power lines on that one. In 200 meters there is another turnoff to the left. Road leads you up on the small hill. This spot has great view to the mountains and you don't need 4WD to get up here. Collect some firewood before you arrive to this site. There are fire pits but the forest is a bit far to haul it up to the camping spots. There are a lot of other campers on the side of the road driving up here.

This place is absolutely beautiful!!! I did have some neighbors who played trap music all day and night but I learned to drown it out after several hours. I parked in spot 27 and walked my gear up to a gorgeous flat site on top of a hill. There was a makeshift fire pit I built up, honestly this is just so worth it!!!

Beautiful view - careful if you're driving up in the rain. I spent about an hour digging my car out of the mud on my way in.

Made it up in my Jetta Wagen with FWD just fine. As others have said, just take your time and be careful not to belly out on the giant ruts caused by truck drivers.

Also, if you can, turn off traction control. Makes driving on these roads a lot easier.

Beautiful spot.

Stayed 2 nights here, made it up in a 12t MAN, the view is just gorgeous, would call it a Million 💵 View.
Cell phone reception ATT.

Made it up in my civic. Just go slow and pay attention when driving up and you’ll make it fine. I stayed two nights because I was rained in and didn’t dare driving down the muddy hill and slipping into the ruts. But I wasn’t as bad as I thought. It was quiet but I think it was because of the rain. Cell signal on and off, occasionally 3 bars when I was in the right spot. There’s a couple of bear boxes and a fair amount of fire pits for multiple campers.

Great place to stay. Met some super nice people.
Spectacular view.

BEAUTIFUL VIEW! Got here around 3pm passed my neighbor on the road mentioned 4WD for the hill because it was rutted out some. I’m in a 67 vw bus and I just chose my line and sent it! Hello from Arizona :)

Staying for 3 nights. Fantastic view of the Tetons. You don’t need a 4x4 to get up the hill. Can get busy. Met super friendly people Ian from Ohio, Trevor from Arizona, Josh and his girlfriend from LA.

Not closed, there is 27 and 27A, which is just for tents and has the best view. we stayed in the slot in front of 27A.

Nice spot, alot alot alot of people.,........

INSANE view from this spot. Best stars. Rough-ish road but manageable. There were a few other cars up here but everyone was super respectful. Worth it for the location and view.

Report Check-In

Crowded but worth it. Please be courteaous and ask permission if you are squeezing in.

We had no issue getting our 42' 5th wheel up to this lookout spot. It was packed! There was barely enough room to squeeze our rig in. Once you get on the forest service road you will see spots at the bottom, but keep taking lefts and you will eventually get to the top. Go slow or you will shake everything loose in your camper.

We stayed for the maximum limit of 5 days. During the 5 days, we were able to get the cool cul-d-sac site by ourselves. There are some actual sites, but most of the camping is dispersed. Basically, don't kill the shrubbery and don't block the road. There are fire pits dispersed throughout the camping areas. The closest dump station and water we could find was in Jackson which was about 40 minutes away.

The camp hosts came around about every day to make sure people were following the rules and not littering. They were very friendly. I would highly recommend coming here. The coverage is very marginal. You may have great service in the morning, but crappy service during the day. It's extremely intermittent with Verizon and ATT. Use caution when coming up here and trying to use a lot of data.

This place is definitely what most of the others already wrote...beautiful views and quiet for the most part. Though it left me questioning what is proper camping etiquette. I came to this spot the first night and it was occupied so I decided to respect first come first dibs rule given this is a designated site and went along two miles further down the road. I chose an unoccupied site then returned in the morning to find this one empty. Score! Throughout the day others came, saw that I was here and immediately left. So I was surprised that at about 6pm a women arrived and decided to set up camp right next to me and leave her outdoor spot light on all night shining in my windows. It felt like poor form to me but maybe I’m just not a friendly neighbor!?

I get coming in late and just crashing and then leaving first thing in the morning. Tables turned I probably would’ve asked the person if they minded me crashing their spot. But anyway...it’s an awesome spot if you’re lucky to get it!

Absolutely breathtaking views.
Had no problems getting there on the Chevy Express Campervan (RWD).
Decent 4g ATT cellular service at some spots.

#27 was super awesome. I highly recommend this spot. There are man-made fire pits, no toilets, and an awesome view. The road up is bumpy but not terrible. You probably need 4wd when going up some hills. Awesome spot for pups to run around too. Pretty secluded from other camp spots nearby.

This has to be the best view of the Tetons from any of the sites here. There are two fire rings but I believe this is only one site. We got in here pretty late (8pm) and we were the only ones at this site. That didn’t last long because people were coming up to the site up until 12am. We had a car come up to the site and actually stay overnight which I thought was odd and another group of high school aged kids who drove past the gates to the walk in sites to go party but I can’t complain about free space. The turn in road claims to need 4x4 but you should be fine if it hasn’t rained. The road up to the turn in is rutted and I had to go pretty slow with my stock ride height transit. I didn’t scrape at all so if you have a ride with decent clearance you will be fine.

Report Check-In

still amazing, 2 sites with firerings where you can get with the motorcycle, the rest are walking only, you are asked by the sign to park the car and walk to site(nothing blocking you from going furthure)

Got up the hill and it was already claimed. Would have been an absolute perfect spot with a beautiful view of the Tetons. Still plenty of spots nearby and we ended up camping up the main road a bit further at site 25. but not quite the views of this spot. Everything claimed about 4x4 not needed. Got up here in our Ford Transit with all terrain tires no problem.

Report Check-In

Beautiful views of the tetons, especially at sunset. I had 2 bars of VZW 4G. Road was a bit rough but my van made it, with some clenched whiteknuckles.

Report Check-In

last bit of the road is steep happy about high clearance 4x4. but the local redneck with his honda accord will make it up here too.

This place was beautiful! Great view of the Tetons. Very buggy (flies, bees, wasps, other bugs, and of course mosquitoes). We watched a Toyota corolla come up the hill after us and it made it. Probably bumped and hit it’s underside a few times on the way up but otherwise this Road is in good condition. No need for 4wd. It’s an open hilltop therefore when a thunderstorm rolled through that night it left us very exposed. No tall trees on this hill.

Top place. Great view and quite. very nice after the crowdet yellowstone NP.

Nice place like many in this area. We had no problems to get there with our van.

Free. As you come up on the cravel road there is almost every turnoff signposted. Look for the sign 30312 and follow the power lines on that one. In 200 meters there is another turnoff to the left. Road leads you up on the small hill. This spot has great view to the mountains and you don't need 4wd to get up here. The other spot checked here has the same views but the last part was not doable with our Sprinter. Collect some firewood befoore you arrive to this site. There is firepits but forest is bit far to haul it up to the camping spots. There is lots of other campers on the side of the road driving up here, but have not seen anybody else up here. So, no 4wd and normal passenger car can get up here. Just drive slowly and choose your driving line carefully.
