Argentina
Narrow and scenic road ahead (if you're going south). Here policeman says we can't take the Ruta 9 with our big rig (7m long x 2.5m width) but we discussed a long time and he finally accepted.
We don't have any photos of this place yet.

Driving north from Salta, the checkpoint is still here. Just asked where we were going and that was it. Did not check our papers or any documentation. Friendly and easy.
Report Check-InWonderful landscape, I'm glad we took this road. No problem with our camper (3.5m high).
Report Check-InComing from Salta you managed the narrow and winding road already. Coming from north I can see the point why the police would stop long vehicles. Our truck is 7.5 meters long and 2.45 m wide which wss no problem as long no oncoming traffic appeared. We honked all the time, but saw only 2 other cars.
If you fear the police you can drive around the reservoir and avoid the patrol station. It's 9 km around (not scenic) but you start or end just before or after the checkpoint respectively.
Stopped us and asked for our license, padrón and insurance. 5 minutes total.
Report Check-InLike on all police stops (and fruit check points) they didn't bother to stop a foreign plated car :)
