Big parking lot with toilets, a snow shelter, fire rings and even firewood. People fully set up with solar panels and even tents. Free! Good stopover before crater lake. Free electricity in the snow shelter. No trash bins. Pack in/pack out.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
As described. Big RVs look like they set up camp here for awhile. Quiet. Would camp here again. Very few options to camp even in formal campsites, esp with the west rim road partially closed. You
Report Check-InStayed overnight in the parking lot, very quiet, only 3 other vehicles there. Nice spot and a quick drive to Crater Lake and Mazama Village.
Report Check-In42ft class A with toad no problem. About 7 RVs parked, they stared piling in round 4-6pm. Could easily turn around with toad depending on trailers parked. Electrical in snow hut, close to creek, solar decent, tent sites below look awesome except lots of mosquitos. Plan to hit crater lake south entrance tomorrow, 30 min drive. Nice quiet people around. Starlink ok speeds and T-Mobile 1 bar LTE
Report Check-InCampsite not open due to lots of snow still blocking road to get down. Stayed night in parking lot. There were two fire sites available I was the only one here. Nice hike down to creek even with snow. Felt safe and super close to the park.
Report Check-InNice place for a night next to Crater Lake, since the camp in the Park was closed. About 10 RVs and vans were around. No issues.
Report Check-Inmany options for many different kinds of rigs, the little cabin is cool, if you're in the lot up top, the road now is kind of a lot, but we were fine here for a few days with friends, the lot is massive. the creek is beautiful but cold, great place to stage for multi day excursions into Crater lake without having to plan way in advance. AT&T was okay here. no t mobile or Verizon.
Report Check-InMeh. The parking lot was crowded. A mentally ill woman roamed around day and night. Others were loud. To the right, down the hill are some nice camping spots, but they are completely canopied by large trees. No light at all (I run on solar, so couldn't work for me). Also a couple spots behind the toilets. I took one. OK spot but cars pulled in and out of the lot all night long. Zero Verizon signal.
Report Check-InReally beautiful river. Ice cold but felt great in the heat. Camped for a couple days. Mellow, not many people. Pit toilets. A snow shelter with a fire place and electrical outlets if you need to charge anything!(: it was hard to leave it was so nice
Report Check-Inlarge parking lot with plenty of space for many to share. some people looked like they lived there. others were obviously spending the night. fire pits with wood available. fairly quiet. we drove down one of the forest roads right off the parking lot and spent the night in the trees, which felt more private and serene.
Report Check-InNice spot very close to Crater Lake. As described by others except no trash bins at this time. Pack in, pack out. No Verizon signal. Paved & level. Woods and a river to explore. Great for dogs. Quiet. Snow shelter has power and picnic tables. Free.
Report Check-InIt's everything everyone has posted. This lot could house 20 or more rigs. Tonight, there are only three. Plenty of room to drive our 31' Class C with a toad.
Report Check-InIt’s big concrete parking lot with plenty of space and a couple of grills at one end. On the road but it’s not very busy. Nice toilets even though they were not maintained when I was there.
Report Check-InActual name of this large parking lot is Annie Creek Sno-Park. 11 miles south of Crater Lake entrance on route 62/Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway. Stayed here two nights, parking lot is relatively level. Note: no trash bins, although as the original poster stated there are two vault toilets, a snow shelter and a maintenance building. (Trash bins can be found in all of the view points/picnic areas going north toward Crater Lake.) Zero Verizon signal. Checked out Annie Creek campsites below (access off the parking lot). Would have preferred to camp at campsites by Annie Creek because they were much prettier, however with the tall pines I figured the only time I could re-charge my batteries with solar panels would be high noon. Spock and I hiked on the ski trails past the campsites.
Report Check-InNice and quiet when we arrived late. The road down to the campsites by the creek isn’t maintained during winter so no access unless you got a snowmobile or something. Apparently Jan 19-23 is the snowmobile Ossa Convention so we woke up with over a dozen pickups and twice as many snowmobiles roaring around. We parked right near the warming lodge so people were starting to gather right outside the van waiting to hear the race announcements for the day. No way to quietly sneak away with a big ol diesel sprinter van... other than that it was cool. Pit toilets were nice, someone even donated an iPhone inside one of them
Report Check-InThis is a great spot. As described in comments. We recommend taking the gravel road and staying in the forest. Multiple spots along the creek. Pit toilets and snow shack in parking lot. No AT&T or Verizon service
Report Check-InAs described - couple of firepit/grills and toilets. Empty at 8pm. Continued on, didn’t stay the night. A couple of campers in the nearby sites.
Report Check-InThis spot is awesome! I had the cabin to myself, with electric outlets, picnic tables, and a wood stove with firewood provided. Two pit toilets nearby. Two other vehicles spent the night. The other snow park west of Crater Lake had signs saying permit required November through April, not sure if there are signs here, and the shelter there was a short walk from the parking lot, here the cabin is up against the lot, and it was more along the road than this snow park.
Report Check-InTwo big rigs (rvs) parked here for a couple weeks.
Stream is lovely.
Pit toilets and quiet.
Also free
Report Check-InThis is parking lot next to a road that is quiet after 9pm. Pit toilets. This is close to Crater Lake on the south side and a nice option in fall and winter when most of the park’s campsites are closed. No ATT cell service.
Report Check-InGreat spot. Bathrooms were surprisingly clean, and the space makes for a quiet night. A few RVs and trailers joined us.
Report Check-InLarge parking lot, enough off highway that road noise isn't intrusive. Snow gone from here, but not yet from Crater Lake NPS campgrounds, so this worked well.
Report Check-InIndeed a good spot for one night. Big flat parking away from the main road. Pit toilets and as a huge plus: a great wooden shelter open 24/7 with old style wood oven for the cold season, tables & benches as well as light and many, many electricity sockets that charge all your devices. No „no overnight“ sign, already two other camper here and free. Btw: near to no mosquitoes today.
Report Check-InBig flat(ish) parking lot, clean pit toilets near by. Lots of mosquitoes though!
Report Check-InWhen you get to the sno park parking lot there is a gravel road that goes down a little bit, you can probably access even with big rigs. Many nice shady camping spots, check the pics. Only pit toilets and no phone signal. Water from natural source.
Report Check-InArrived when it got dark (after beautifull sunset at Craterlake). A lot of vehicles where already there. Pit toilets are great bonus! If you drive down the dirt road there are some great more natural campsites next to the river.
Report Check-InJust a pull off on to annie, just after a cabin set up. Big parking lot with toilets, a snow shelter, fire rings and even firewood. People fully set up with solar panels and even tents. Free! Good stopover before crater lake
