Description

Camp and tour operator, they have rooms, but let us camp in our bus and use the facilities. We made a jaguar tour (saw 2!), but we don't know the usual price for a boat because we negotiated 150 per person to take part for half the day in a previously booked full-day boat. Very nice guides! Camping was 40 pp, dinner 40 pp, but in the end we paid less, the calculation was a bit confusing ;-)! Recommended!

Asked for a shared tour here for one person as I was alone. Offered prize was 1000 Real for a full day tour. All that was included was an English speaking guide.
Ridiculous prize. I didn't do the tour here.

We wouldn't recommend this place. It was all about the money. A private tour for two persons from sunrise to sunset is R$1380 without lunch, camping, parking. A pre packed lunch is R$35 pp. Camping is R$70 pp. You can get a discount of 7% if you pay with cash. We've met two other people to share the boat with a few days earlier. Then the total price was R$2000. We tried to include camping in the price but that was not possible. We decided to wild camp instead to lower our costs. There is no Vivo coverage here and we didn't received a response about where to start the tour. So we drove to the camp the evening before. Our friends didn't arrive yet (they stayed the night there). So we asked for the WiFi to text them to asked if they were ok (they had a flat tire). Ailton asked if we wanted to use the toilet. So Romy did and then we left. The next morning we arrived at the camp for the tour. And then we saw Ailton texted us (15 minutes after we left last night) that it was rude to use the toilet and the WiFi and not pay for it and that he cancelled our trip. In the end we still did the tour because we went with our friends. Otherwise we would have go to another tour company because there are many and also the same prices are possible. The tour was ok and Ailton apologized when we went back from the tour, but still we don't recommend this place.

Nice location to camp 45br pP. Ailton the manager speaks very good english. Tour was good spottet one Jaguar!

Report Check-In

Asked the manager(number in ioverlander) via WhatsApp if it's still possible to camp. Yes we are welcome. We arrived at noon and could pick a spot at the camp. As camper you can use toilet, cold shower, sink and cold drinkwater tap.

Camping is currently 45ppn. Full day Jaguar tour is 410 pp.

We could join the afternoon (14.00 - 18.00) Jaguar trip and spotted 4 Jaguars. The next morning (6.30 - 12.00) we went out for the second part of the tour and spotted 3 more. Amazing experience. Good fast boats and they definitely spend a lot of time on the water.

Helpful guys, speak English, not cheap though. Restaurant smelt good but was expensive so we preferred our own kitchen.

We liked this place. Ailton was very friendly and helpful, spoke perfect English and knows his Jaguars. The camping is 45 reales pppn. Hot showers, cold drinking water and electrical points to charge things. You can eat in the restaurant. I think its 40R for breakfast, 50R for lunch and I think 70R for dinner - We cooked for ourselves. Boat trips cost us 205R each pp. The morning one leaves at 6.30am and returns about 11.30am, the afternoon one is 2pm - dusk (5.30pm) The guide and the driver were both very professional.

Next door to Jaguar Camp is a ranch owned by Panthera.org. we struggled to make contact but Ailton knows the manager and gave us his number. He invited us across to find out about the work that Panthera do to protect the jaguar habitat and by running an active ranch and finding ways to keep cattle safe from the Jaguars, methods that they hope other ranches will adopt e.g . the use of buffalo in the herd to protect cattle. Panthera also do a lot for the local community including running a free school for local children and adults. Well worth a visit to the ranch which sits on the river. You can stay at the ranch but only on a bed and board basis. Would be my first choice if we weren't camping. Lots of birdlife, walks and things to see around the ranch.

We went to Jaguar Camp but decided not to stay. The 390 pp full day tour turned out to be same price for only half day. Camping 45r pp. We didn't like the location either. We stayed somewhere else.

Report Check-In

Tour is 390 pp. For that you get 4 hours in the morning and another 4 hours in the afternoon. Breakfast is 35, lunch and dinner are 50. Great shaded camping. Great hosts that are really accommodating to overlanders with ongoing improvements. The owner and sometimes guide is seriously self educated in the local environment. Speaks english well.

A great place to stay! New houses for residents. Great food. Clean facilities, filtered and cooled fresh water. We inaugurated the new round Overlander place, a meeting and parking point. The tour was fantastic, with the. Speedboat (60km/h) we met 6 Jaguars and a lot of fauna. Highly recommended, although there are cheaper places.
Prices: tour 390 pp fullday in group 6-8, lunch, dinner: 50 pp breakfast 35pp Camping: 80 / night

Lovely, shady spot. We could camp in the grounds and had access to a toilet and shower. Ailton, the owner, speaks good English and was very helpful. He even entertained us over dinner with his guitar. The road to Porto Jofre was only opened a few days ago. Camping around BRL 45 to 50 pp. Dinner in the restaurant BRL50pp. We didn't do a boat trip to look for Jaguars as it was cold and overcast and drizzly. Its also very expensive - a bit over BRL 1,600 for a half day. If there are other guests the cost can be shared.

Recommended! Really nice people, great food and they let you camp here for 35pp. Can't comment about the tours as they were fully booked.

great place but boat tours are expensive compared to others. however they use very fast boats. this is important when animals are spotted . At night we had a Jaguar presentation. highly recommended and 4 big rigs will fit. We saw 7 jaguars lots of cayman, birds, capybara, giant otters etc etc.

Report Check-In

Highly recommended! Ailton is the owner and a perfect guide who speaks very good english (and spanish and portuguese). If you book a jaguar tour you can camp for free (incl. fast wifi).
Boat tour: Normal price for half day with shared boat is 390brl per person. Private tour is 1'400brl per boat. The have a silent 4T (60HP) engine, which is much better than the loud engines of the fisher boats.
Camping: Without boat tour 50brl per car.
Food: breakfast 30brl, lunch 50brl, dinner 50brl.
If you want to ship your car to Corumba, Ailton has some connections and may help you.
We really enjoyed our time here and an english speaking guide (seldom!). The whole staff is really anxious and friendly!
