The perfect overnight stop!
Plenty of RV sides along the river (nice atmosphere for a good night's sleep), some more leveled than others, some on pavement some on hard dirt.
Long stretch of nicely maintained grass patch to hold good 50 tents.
Two Restroom houses at each end, everything is very clean and open all night.
Decent AT&T signal. 100% recommend

This park is freakin rad!! Super chill they let you stay for 3 days, tent camping on the grassy area too. Plenty of space to walk your pets and clean bathrooms as well. Definitely a win! Best “ city “ park I’ve ever stayed at!

Report Check-In

As described open and popular several tents some large RVs parked parallel to the river there's a large space at the end of the road for turning around.

Report Check-In

One of my favorite places I have stayed at. Multiple sights, just little pull overs. Right next to the river, water will put you right to sleep! Bathrooms and good service - what more do you need??

Report Check-In

Big free camping spot that can accommodate Tents, SUVs, and RVs (there is a sign posted advertising it so it is legit)! Tables trash cans and bathrooms in the right season (this is not currently the right season but that’s fine)

Report Check-In

City Park where the city allows for overnight camping up to 3 days. Toilets are available. Tent camping is available. Next to the river: the water is polluted so no swimming! Pretty pleasant place. Many others here as well.

Report Check-In

Clean, free camping at city park. Never found a place to fill water. Well maintained bathrooms. Bring your own soap. Lots of people here, but they are all quiet.

This place is in wrong location - it is located at 42.82126, -108.73680

Great option! Either tent camp on the grass under the trees or park by a babbling brook.

Coordinates took me to the front of the park, but camping is only allowed behind the tennis courts. I sent a location correction but don't know if it will be updated.

Here are my coordinates:

Google maps took me to the middle of Main Street! This park is west of the middle of town, Behind the baseball fields. Area is marked “Free camping”. You can park along the river if you are in an RV or van.

Report Check-In

One of the best spots EVER! On the River and you can walk to town for beers and ice cream !

Clean, safe, and lovely park for a 3 day stay in Lander City limits. Lots of other rigs but everyone is respectful and it was quiet at night. Plenty of room for everyone!

Report Check-In

Free camping. River. Public Bathrooms. Cell service. What more could you ask for?!? Stayed on a Friday- many other rigs, but no one outside making noise.

Report Check-In

Warning: EXTREMELY LOUD during weekends with rigs rolling through at 2am, 3am, etc.
My one weekday stay wasn’t bad but wasn’t great either.
Will stealth camp someplace else before coming back here again. (Check me out on IG: our_heroes_graves)

Report Check-In

eh, it's kind of loud tbh with traffic and city works moving all about. there's a Walmart about 15 minutes north. I'd rather stay there.

Report Check-In

Very large area with room for tons of campers. Nice bathrooms and park space. So impressed that the town does this! Good vibes overall in the park, even with 30+ campers.

Report Check-In

Great place! Very camper van friendly place- the friendliest I’ve been!

Report Check-In

Stayed here the max of 3 nights over the course of a week while in lander. Exactly as others have described. Plenty of room for all who arrive- folks just squeeze into a space. If you want to really set up with chairs and slide outs and such, get here early. If you’re looking for a space, you should be able to grab one any time. Quiet at night and would recommend staying here.

Report Check-In

Great place. Go past the ball field and there’s a big turn around spot, then grab a parking spot along the creek. There is a sign that shows you where campers go and where tents go. 3 day limit. Flush toilets and trash. Big park and huge playground behind the ball field.

It is free camping for up to three nights per city ordinance.

Report Check-In

Great place to stay. Had an expected wet heavy snow and many of the trees had broken branches. This is becoming a
popular place for van dwellers. So come early to get a spot. Otherwise very quiet. Found a great dog park by the high school.

Report Check-In

Great park to sleep at. We’re in a Sprinter van and had been parked on the Main Street in town but, when our heat stopped working just before 2am, a police officer came by and told us that you couldn’t actually park on the street past 2:00am even though that’s not written anywhere. Glad to see this park is still open for camping in the winter!

Report Check-In

Agree with other posts. Nice place to stop for the night and it is free.
