Description

They were surprised we didn't have any paraguayan temporary import vehicle (we keep our argentian papel, and at Ciudad del Este, they say it's ok without any, if we just stay one week in Paraguay). So, they just have a look in the RV and we could go...

Latest Check-Ins

Long waiting row before the first check point and on the bridge. On the Argentinian side I didn't need to left the car, just handed out passport and TIP. On Paraguayan side I needed to park the car and walk to the migration and aduana. Alltogether it took 80min. Nobody cared for the car, no looks inside, nothing.

Report Check-In

Entering Paraguay - Saturday, 13 May 2023
Arrived at approximately 13:50. Both the migraciones and aduana were quick and we were done by 14:10. They took two minutes to have a peek in the back and then we were on our way!

Exiting Paraguay - Wednesday, 17 May 2023
Arrived around 15:00. The traffic to get to the border is chaotic, but there are traffic police keeping at least some order. We had to ask several in order to find the end of the line to the border. Took until almost 16:00 to reach the migraciones, but exiting took less than five minutes. The trouble after that was then traffic at the end of the bridge. The official procedures are no trouble here, but the traffic is a disaster.

Crossed from Paraguay to Argentina today. The queue seemed to be pretty long, but they worked fast. All in all maybe 1.5h. Friendly officers that even made an x-ray scan of our camper, but let us proceed with all food and vegetables.

Report Check-In

If you have the opportunity, be sure to take another border crossing from Paraguay to Argentina during this time. The queue is, day and night, several kilometers long because thousands of Paraguayans go to Argentina to buy gasoline. We tried twice today and gave up. We will take the ferry tomorrow in Bella Vista.

Report Check-In

We entered Encarnacion from Posadas today, sunday afternoon. We had the DDJJ for Argentina and Paraguay printed with us.
When entering Paraguay, we first had to go to the Puesto de Sanitario, where our European vaccination certificate was briefly checked and the printed QR code of the DDJJ was stamped. We didn't have a PCR test, but they didn't ask for it either.
At the migracion we got the entry stamp in the passport and a few steps further the Aduana filled out the TIP by hand. Nobody asked for groceries or wanted to look inside the vehicle.
After 20 minutes we were done.
Traffic was backed up for the entry into Argentina, but for the entry into Paraguay we had almost free travel. There were no trucks today either.

Report Check-In

Entering Paraguay was easy. Park up and go to Migration first left side of roadway through). They will stamp you in and they said it was 90 days. Then ask about Aduana at the small booth which you would have to drive past to enter Paraguay (near migration). They will take you over across to the building where you need to do the TIP paperwork. This took maybe about 30 minutes in total for 2 x TIP and entry stamps. The staff were really friendly. We asked for 90 days and they granted us 90 days.

If you get the immigration stamp to enter into Paraguay and at the counter ask for vehicle import they might tell that it is not necessary. Tell them that you are there with a foreign licensed car (i.e. from Europe) and they will advise you where to go to get the correct Import paper dor Paraguay.

No one at the border will make sue you follow the correct procedure, they'll just let you through like all the argentinian cars that don't need to do anything.
If you want to enter the country leagaly, you'll have to go inside the building to get an immigration stamp. Next, ask where to get the 'admission temporal de vehiculos touristicas'. It will take about 30 minutes. We asked for more, but only got a permit for 30 days. That said, the people are very friendly...

If you want to enter the country legally, you'll have to go inside the building to get an immigration stamp. Next, ask where to get the 'admision temporal de vehiculos turisticas'. It'll take about 30min to fill out this one form with the usual information. We asked for more, but only got a permit for 30 days. That said, the people are very friendly, we just noticed it's not a process they execute on a daily basis...
