They have a look in the RV and we could go. We don't need a temporary importation vehicule paper, because we keep it one week ago, when we left Argentina, at Iguazu :-)

Latest Check-Ins

Long waiting row before the first check point and on the bridge. On the Argentinian side I didn't need to left the car, just handed out passport and TIP. On Paraguayan side I needed to park the car and walk to the migration and aduana. Alltogether it took 80min. Nobody cared for the car, no looks inside, nothing.

Argentina > Paraguay

easiest border yet. don't even get out of the car until you get to the other side. line up, Migracion is done at the booth window, then hand in the tip at the aduana stop 30m later. couldn't be easier. other side, park, do migraciones, get back in car, pass through, they'll tell you to park there, get out and get Paraguayan tip. super easy, super fast, the most basic inspection. dog owners, no worries, nothing required. they don't care.

note, the line going the other way was very, very long, over the whole bridge and then some, but in this direction it was fast and simple.

Exiting Argentina - Saturday, 13 May 2023
Arrived in the queue two kilometers away at 11:30am. It took until 13:40 to arrive at the exit migraciones booth. Ten minutes to process our exit - not including the aduana. The aduana made us open up the back of our camper, but only wanted a peek.

Entering Argentina - Wednesday, 17 May 2023
We hit the queue on the bridge at 17:05 and finally arrived at the migraciones booth at 17:25. Migraciones took two minutes. After migraciones they searched our camper and truck before we even got to the aduana. The aduana here is pure chaos. Everyone is here to declare goods, but someone took us before everyone else since we just needed a TIP. Arrived at the aduana 17:30 and left 17:50. It would have been faster if not for a computer outage.

To enter in Argentina from Paraguay. It took us less than 1h, we wait 20min for Paraguay at 9am and 20min in argentinian side. We pass the passport but didn't have any stamp (European passport), ask several to few persons told us it was normal. Have a quick check in the van, and made the tip with a nice lady.
Really nice people. So be prepared to wait in the line but if you are lucky it's super quick

We entered Encarnacion from Posadas today, sunday afternoon. We had the DDJJ for Argentina and Paraguay printed with us.
Departure Argentina was done in 15 minutes, you don't even have to get out of your car - just get the exit stamp and hand in the TIP.
Traffic was backed up for the entry into Argentina, but for the entry into Paraguay we had almost free travel. There were no trucks today either.

Very easy, but long queue on Friday afternoon (approx. 30 min). They didn't really check our car, so we still have our fruit and eggs :).

One note: there was a new guy and he told us that we don't need a TIP, because there is a special agreement with neighbouring countries or whatsoever. When getting ready to drive away his boss told us to stop. We did need a TIP. He was very friendly and said sorry for the miscommunication. So, make sure you get the TIP :)

This crossing into Paraguay is a nightmare during daytimes. We also came on a Thursday however in the afternoon. The queue was enormus so we decided against the crossing. At Posada's tourist information we were told that the run of Argentines crossing to Paraguay is because of cheap shopping. They also told it is best to cross before 6:00 in the morning. We spent a pleasent afternoon and evening in Posadas at the Costanera/River Bank and crossed at 22:00. It was easy going and took in including Paraguay immegriation just about 30 minutes alltogether.
