second time staying here while passing through. Good cell service, ample parking, pit toilets, very quiet and smooth road.
Report Check-InVery well maintained road, pit toilet and a boat ramp with Ample parking for large 5th wheels or buss. Hyway is over a hill so you can't see it and barely hear any passing vehicles. Only stayed one night.
Report Check-InThis is a nice lake but no seclusion and no shade. Just a short dirt/gravel road, wide open with cars and campers parked throughout. Mosquitos were very bad. Saw many pelicans at the lake and antelope in the plains near by. Probably wouldn't stay again except for a quick overnight sleep en route to somewhere else.
Report Check-InEasy access and great place to spend the night. The mosquitos in July were very hungry and plentiful. This stop has beautiful views and very little to no road noise from the small highway on the other side of the hill.
I showed up a little late and there were multiple other campers on a Thursday night. Busy-ish, but I still found a spot to park.
I’ll almost definitely stop here again!
Report Check-InSmall but nice. Only one other person here. Dogs had a great time running around. Pit toilets here but didn’t use them.
Report Check-InWide open area, a single tree, sage brush landscape. Nice Mountain View’s, but the several pullouts further north a few miles are much more outstanding visuals. Soft mud while ground is wet. Very windy.
Report Check-InOpen. slightly muddy but no problem in 2wd van, pit toilet clean and open. lake still frozen but no snow in parking lot.
Report Check-InLots of water foul and a couple bugs but a couple sprays of deet do the trick.
Report Check-InIncredible spot right on the lake. Barely a house or sign of civilization in sight, just some cows grazing on the other side of the water and snow capped mountains in the distance, even in June. Only about 4-5 sites available, but some are right on the water. Bathroom at the lake entrance but no trash cans so pack in pack out. Pretty windy at night was the only complaint.
Report Check-InAmazing spot just north of Walden. Lots of waterbirds and views of the mountains. Very quiet. Only downside are the flocks of mosquitoes.
