Amazing vistas just a short drive from Telluride. High clearance and 4x4 not needed. Free. LNT.

We arrived LATE like almost 9 pm and the roads were easy to maneuver but it was dark. The spot was right where the posting said it was so navigating was easy. We found an amazing spot and were only joined by one other vehicle. There are plenty of spots here and the morning view is amazing. I have tmobile and had 5G up there. Definitely will be visiting this spot again.
Report Check-InIncredible spot! Unreal views, relatively level spots, easy road, and full Verizon service?? What more could you ask for?? A few other campers at the top, but plenty of space to spread out. On my short list for favorite spots!
Report Check-InGot here at 5:30pm on a Sunday with 3 other folks here - I can imagine it gets crazy on weekends. This place is great for a quick stay and epic views but if you want solo time this is not the location. Spotty cell service - 5g one second and nada the next second
Report Check-InDOOPPEE! Really lovely large parking area with fire pits or plenty of rocks to make your own. Very passable road, did it in our 95 Chevy 2wd. Minimal washboard. No snow, mud or ice. Likely passable only by 4x4 after the main parking area. Was pretty busy tonight 5/27 Memorial Day wknd but mostly with a group of 16 maybe grads? Otherwise would have still been quite empty and quiet. Cheers!
Report Check-InLike everyone else has said, the views are awesome but it gets too crowded at times. They were starting some construction, I believe putting up a cell tower so that totally ruined it for us. Definitely did not feel comfortable going any further past this spot in a Promaster as the rest of Last Dollar Road gets pretty rough. Overall was nice to stay for a night. Road up this spot is easy for any type of rig.
Report Check-InWorth the pretty, totally easy dirt road drive up for the view from the bush camp. No issues maneuvering in a prius but I didn’t try the road past this lot. All other reports also true: lots of people, no facilities, looks like it could be a social evening. If I wasn’t solo I’d stay for the sunset+rise. I bet the stars will be killer, too.
Report Check-InNice little pullout area on Last Dollar road before the road gets tougher. We really enjoyed the view of the valley -- the snowcapped peaks look great in the morning light.
Report Check-InThis place is a ZOO. Like 30-40 rigs and trailers and overlanders. Not very private at all if that’s what you’re looking for. Cool view. We kept moving on.
Report Check-InWe got in late and stayed the night here in our Ram Promaster. It was busy but plenty of space, campsites cozy together. Lots of fire pits. People were quiet and respectful. Woke up to a beautiful view. Well worth the long drive off the main road.
Report Check-Inunreal views. easily accessible for 2WD even in light snow. quite windy but worth it for the scenery.
Report Check-InMy review isn’t as glowing as others. If you are a social camper who doesn’t need privacy, and have dogs that enjoy meeting new dogs this is the place. Lots of other campers packed close together. Windy, lots and lots of dust. We prefer more privacy but arrived too late to search for another spot. The drive up through the aspens was lovely.
Report Check-InViews are amazing, but it is crowded. Probably 15 van/campers/RV here all weekend. We didn’t notice many bugs so it was awesome to just hang out and leave the windows and doors open. No amenities, but good cell service. Road to the pin is in great shape, but I would not recommend going further up Last Dollar Rd unless you have high clearance and/or 4WD. We did it in our 2WD 170 sprinter and bottomed out several times. One of the sketchiest roads we’ve been on and no places to turn around so you have to keep going until the road ends.
Report Check-InOne of the most beautiful camping spots in the lower 48. I’ve met great people staying here before. It can be a mixed bag though... currently two large 5th wheels from Texas are parked font and center taking up over half of the place and running generators all night.
Report Check-InGorgeous gorgeous! Pack in, pack out. No toilets. Just gorgeous views and fresh air.
Report Check-InEspecially on weekends, might be difficult to get a spot. Gorgeous views, and quiet - unless you have college age neighbors partying all night ;)
Report Check-InAmazing vistas just a short drive from Telluride. High clearance and 4x4 not needed. Free.
