Free, wild camping spot near Changres National Park. Flat gravel spot with great views of the park and valley. Can get windy and a little cold at night. You need high clearance and perhaps 4x4 to come up here, for the last 30-40 meters up a rutted hill.

Up on a hill, very beautiful, way too windy so we drove a few meters further down the road to a pullout. We honestly wouldn’t recommend camping anywhere up here during the windy season, it was blowing 60mph the entire night.
Report Check-InOur two wheel drive sprinter van made it up here without much trouble, even with the rain. Great place to escape the heat. Lots of wind at night. Good views of the city. Stayed up here 4 nights total, really liked it.
Report Check-InThe little steep bit is absolutely impassable by now unless you have super high clearance... completely washed out with giant rocks sticking out. Added another spot about 300m down the road where you can easily get up to. Beware it's super windy up there but otherwise very nice.
Report Check-InUpdated the coordinates, because the first spot is impossible to drive to right now. it is dry season, but the steep bit up is terribly washed out with loads of big, sharp rocks sticking out, we didn't dare driving up there with our Defender....
This place is quiet at night with a beautiful view of the city at night. Cool and very windy. Too windy for rooftop tent, so we slept inside the car. It is a lot nicer than sleeping in the city. There is a fire ring here, you need to bring wood, but I think it's too windy for a fire anyway, but that might just be today...
Still a great spot, though we couldn't get up the short little bit, so we went just a little further down the road and there is a similar spot that is much easier to get up. We did see cars go up the other spot, so depending on your vehicle and comfort, you can get up there. Very peaceful and so much cooler than the city!
