We would like to mention how great the road to this border is. However, it took us 24 hours to cross this border - not because of lines or anything like that. The Costa Rica border out was no problem, but then we learned that the power on Panama was out - no power: no processing thru computer. only the next morning the power was back.
But, the weather is nice and cool, there was a level parking lot across from the offices, there was a chicken restaurant with bathrooms and wifi, so it is a good camping spot. it maybe best to come late in the day and check the power in Panama (outage seem to normal there) before exiting Costa Rica. Crossing borders can not be done over two days!
(we had to re-enter Costa Rica in the morning, and exit again befote we could enter Panama, to do this on the same date) Otherwise, the people were pleasant, there were no helpers, and no indications of bribes. Just have (lots of) patience!
