I loved this place and think it's worth a Detour if you are nearby.
we arrived and drove down the steep road leading towards the first green gate. but there were low wires, so we backed up and parked to the side.
A super kind man from the house at the first gate came out and asked if we wanted to drive down since we have a 4x4 (Landcruiser with good clearance, but any AWD or 4x4 could do it if it's dry, the road isn't bad at all).
He charges a fee to pass through his gate to the finca now, 50c for a car. Not sure how much per walking person. That's on top of the 50c per person at the carving site.
we drove right to the gate at the bottom and avoided the 1km hikedown and back up. Worth it for me!
The carvings are amazing and if you run into the man responsible, he will take you on an impromptu nature tour and show you around the property! We were super lucky and it happened to us.

visit here!!

first, park on the road and enter the finca via green gate identified by the other iOverland icon. hope you have good shoes and water.
2. walk into the farm and down the hill, past barb wire fence, through the cow poop field and further downhill on the dirt and stone trail. arrive at second green gate.
3. go through gate, follow to a shabby house with official sign and some small carvings. admire and continue walking.
4. arrive and another fancy sign and newish welcome center. they may have a volunteer collecting money, pay 30 cord pp and enter the art area. admire more small carvings and move on.
4. enter trails, keep leftish and work up the along side the mountain, there were absolutely no signs anywhere when we went but all trails were well maintained.

if you manage to find the correct mountain side trail, you will go from mild amusement at the stone petroglyph like art to suddenly wondering if you stepped into the ancient city of Petra or Egypt. like wow, he's done some amazing work.

Amazing place. The life’s work of a cool old gentlemen. Great hike down into a canyon with amazing views. Places to buy drinks. Wear good shoes. This is a quirky little “must see”. Note other post for parking area and path tips.

Just to add- you could take some rice, beans, fresh fruit, etc to give as a tip for your tour. But cash works too.
