Something not right?

Description

Free established National Forest Campground with five spots. Not maintained at all and the road in, despite being very short, was very rutted out. Not recommended for larger rigs, but we did see a brave soul bring down a 30' rig and get it into the first spot in the campground with some effort. Spots not level.

Latest Check-Ins

After reading previous reviews, I decided to skip this one since I was hauling my 22’ toy hauler with my Tundra. But, as I passed the road, it looked decent, so I pulled over and walked it first. It was no problem getting in and out—only 1/4 mile so just took it slowly. Beautifully clean campground. Sites are small, but nice—picnic tables and fire rings, but please no fires. NF so please pack out any garbage. Few bugs this time of year, loads of bunnies!

With my rig, I had two choices—drop the rig and park the truck, or park in the turnaround. It was late when we got in, so we parked in the turn around. Even with my big rig, there was plenty of room for anyone else who needed to use the turnaround. Friday night in October, so three other vehicles arrived late in the evening and set up camp. One was a Prius with two girls, so I figure most cars/trucks could make this, with the exception of really large RVs. This would be a great place to camp off the motorcycle, too—the road that continues past looked like it would be fun to explore.

Report Check-In

Road in remains rutted (made it in 2WD small SUV, but spun a tad on the way out). Nobody was at this small campground for the 30min I spent there, midweek. A lot of garbage/trash on this day (theres a fire station down the road a bit — perhaps theyd take some bags of trash, the corridor seems to be pack-in/out, never spotted a dumpster.) Birds were active with song, a plus. I moved along, didnt stay.

Report Check-In

As described. Not much to see or do other than enjoy the fire rings if you bring wood.

No toilet.

Nearly 5700' so it was quite chilly compared to lower elevations nearby

Spots not level and we actually almost tipped our rig over when we went over a rut at the wrong angle in an attempt to get to the most level spot.
