Closed now and under construction - they are building around the car park. The waterfall and park is still open but you can't camp at night.

Beautiful water spring of Rio San Juan. we stay on the street beside the church. No problems sleep with river sound. Recommended

Update: was asked for 50q. s
So guessing price went up. Once inside parkade area locked in at night. No bathrooms inside locked parking area. no water available. no Wi-Fi. pretty bleak for 50q but the sound of the river and light background music is soothing. So pay for secure parking in the evening is what it is. Area is nice. Water looks good. Dog friendly. Caretaker was nice to talk with and set the price for the evening.

It's a natural water source but the waterfall is actually a man made feature along with a 'pool' type section that the locals swim in. It has a restaurant and outdoor seating area within the water flow and then more restaurants/street vendors/ seating area to use. There's a large flat area to park which can easily be missed depending on which side you come from but it's next to the seating area/tree line so look out for the entrances as you arrive. Plenty of bathrooms and it was super busy with locals having picnics when we arrived for lunch. Feels pretty safe and open. Loaaads of flies in the parking area and it's the first place we haven't swam in despite there being the option.

Big rigs need to cautious and the main two-way road in town is pretty narrow and hectic but the chicken buses make it down so judge from that. Plenty of toilets here too but unsure if 24hr.

I wouldn't go out your way to this place to be honest, the drive had a stunning view but meanders quite a way out and lacks the wow factor but it was an enjoyable lunch spot and could've happily stayed a night if necessarily.
