Something not right?

Description

Very nice Canyon with Springs and a lot of vegetation and birds. Bit noisy in the night due of hunderts of frogs. To get there turn left at Cocos Corner, after 10 km right on sandy track, Canyonentrance after another 10 km. 4x4 high clearance recommanded, necessary from south (deep sand). Otherwise ask Coco, he will draw you a map ;-)
If you travel south through the Canyon, you will reach Mex 1.

Latest Check-Ins

Heads up to anyone attempting to drive this route: Most definitely high clearance required, 4x4 very helpful. we came from the south entrance off Mex 1. Very slow staggered whoops/ deep ruts and large washboards. One spot we almost turned around at, about 10km from the canyon. deep 2-3ft ruts/ holes going down a hill, no way around. Lifted 4x4 f150 with camper has never been so flexed lol. Added a photo which doesnt really do justice. Another spot north of the canyon had us questioning if we can pass as well. Do able with a 4x4 high clearance as long as you know how to drive and choose the right line. Assuming the road has washed out since the last addition to this area.

Report Check-In

Cool area especially because the spring water brings a tropical type environment with palm trees. There are plenty of roadside camp areas nearby this location.
The road north and south both require high clearance and low tire pressure. Lots of water crossings and some packed sand. We have a Jeep with good tires and used 4x4 twice on the North section (between here and Coco’s) and once on the South section.
We saw no other people while here but Coco told us there are Puma’s in the area.
