Something not right?

Description

Eco truly logde actually advised us to park inside their property since they said it wasn't safe at night. They asked 15 soles p.p. It is a beautiful place, apperently very busy in the weekends but quiet when we were there. In the morning there was a Free yoga class taught by volunteers. There are showers, toilets, a restaurant, little shop, organic vegetable Gardens, Peacocks, dogs, a cow, a childrens playground, and many different cabanas and buildings on site. For us a good overnight stop before heading into Lima.

Latest Check-Ins

Its a bit expensive 70S, but save and interesting to assist the evening hare krishna ceremony. Beach is still closed due to oil contamination.

Report Check-In

We stayed here and slept well, but just for context: This is part of the Hare Krishna cult / sect, so you will get a mandatory 1 hour tour of the property with some light sales of their booklets and singing / meditation. We were happy that a Peruvian tourist ended the tour with an "I need to get something to eat", otherwise we would have probably sat around the shrine for another 30 minutes. So be prepared for the slight awkwardness if you are not into that stuff. They do have a restaurant with indian food, but as we did learn during the tour they use human excrements from the dry toilet to fertilize their vegetables... This is how to get Cholera 101, so we didn't eat there. Because it is a cult, you are not allowed to drink coffee, tea, and alcohol as well as eating meat or having sex for anything else than reproductive purposes. Fair enough, if these are the rules. Communication via WhatsApp was a bit difficult, because they asked all these questions via WhatsApp, but I think you can just pull up and ask for camping, there were also a few locals camping in tents. They have a few dogs on the property so I would assume pets are allowed, but we didn't explicitly ask if we were allowed to bring our cat in. We also didn't ask if we were allowed to feed meat to our cat or if this would kill the "spirit" of the place, I guess I could get philosophical on that one :-) Decent spot to stay though, as there is nothing around. We used it do be able to drive through Lima early the next morning.

This was a peaceful, safe place to stay overnight in our van before going to Lima. Previous reviews still true. There is a small, dirt parking area inside the gate. Beautiful greenery and garden. Interesting buildings. Cell service poor to none. They asked 50 soles for two in vehicle. WhatsApp ahead of time is probably best +51 994 620 425. Reception is at the small gate nearer the beach when you arrive, then drive back to the vehicle gate. We drove on the heavy truck/serpentine route for a short ways just like all the other light vehicles and motorcycles living and doing business in this community. It’s almost impossible to get there otherwise.

Report Check-In

It was good for one night. Safe and quiet. We negotiated 20 soles/person. Dinner was 10 soles/person. Dinner was ok-ish and it was served cold. The rules of the house are: you can’t smoke, drink alcohol or cook meat in order to maintain the good energy flow of the eco lodge. Showers cold, dry toilets.
People administrating the eco lodge were nice and inviting to give us a tour of the place and to meditation.
Yoga class: 45 soles/person for one person; 30soles/person for groups. I took the single class and unfortunately the yoga teacher had to go after 20 minutes we started the session, so was a bit unprofessional. However they didn’t charge me for the 20 minutes warm up.
Safe place for one night and interesting community.

Report Check-In

We arrived late in the afternoon and asked for a parking place to stay the night. They asked 60 soles for 2 persons and an RV. Touristprices are changing rapidly along the coast. We left and found a quiet, safe and free spot at a Repsol fuelstation.

Very well maintained and beautiful place, it's a Hare Krishna retreat but open for many visitors and volunteers. We paid 30 Soles pp because of easter holydays, otherwise 20. We had to camp on the inside parking, not perfect for cooking and everything but ok for one night. In the morning we were asked to show our ticket again, very unfriendly (we had to search in our trash), because he forgot that we paid him already...
