Camping San Pedro | Established Campground

Great camping, nice owner, lots of place. Everything you need here: shower, fast wifi, 2 pools, lots of table, bbq and so on…
Unfortunately, the camping is quiet inside… but not outside. In fact, the area is very noisy.
10000 pesos/night for 1 personne.

Good place, friendly people, clean bathrooms and (cold) showers. Can’t agree with some of the previous posts. Plus it seems to be the only campground in Arica.

Stayed 2 nights. Terrible. The whole night there was extremely loud music and noise from a party that was semi-located on the terrain. We complained several times but the owner didn’t want to do anything about it. It was her child’s birthday party. It went on until 6.30 in the morning. We didn’t sleep at all and felt sick of sleep deprivation.

The site is a huge mess, everything is dirty and broken. Sanitary building beyond disgusting; full of bugs, mold, bad smell, seemed not cleaned in years. Half the toilets couldn’t flush. NONE of the women shower was working. The men’s shower was full of (dead and alive) cockroaches. No hot water. Worst shower of our life.

Due to lack of sleep, facilities and cleanliness we proposed the first night for free. The owner got really angry and we couldn’t have a normal conversation since she yelled and interrupted us all the time. Then makes up lies about the price, claiming its 20.000 p night. Whilst at arrival she said 10.000 for 24H. In the end we paid stag in the middle and left with a really bad feeling. We never have experienced something like this on a 7month travel. Don’t go here, it’s not worth it. Better go wildcamping outside of Arica.

I arrived late at night and without making previous contact. I was very well received... 10,000 pesos. but for those who had their car broken into in Calama (Jumbo supermarket) this price is not expensive. The campsite is quite big. Only me as it is off season. Clean toilets, but no hot water in the shower.

We paid 7000pp/night. Included electric, water, fast wifi, pool (we did not check), showers (cold). Quiet. The downside is that to go into Arica for shopping, banking and sorting phone (which you might want to do if coming from Peru) the best option seems to be Uber with Sebastian (who lives on the property) 4000 each way.

This place is not suitable for campers any more. There was no water in the ladies shower and we had to park near the office to have wifi.

It is open. Just arrive at daylight and ask for the friendly owner.
Let me try to describe it positive... there are enough toilets. So you can choose the less dirty one and the one which is not broken. The whole garbage is far enough away on the property, so you do not see it the whole day. There are some tissues lying around, so you can clean the tables and chairs.
The bbq places are able to clean. No problem.
And there are some not broken things on the playground, where the kids could play.
The military people from the near base shouting at night, will give you some safety feeling. Which is rear in Arica.
It is definately the best of all worst places to camp here.
Two stars for the pool and the great internet. A half star for the little grassy area on the campsite. The kids liked to do picnic inside.

Actual name is camping "San Pedro". Although closed during the week, outside high season, they let us camp for the night.

Since we were there alone, wifi signal was strong and fast. Swimming pool. Cold showers. Clean site. Helpful and friendly owners
