Description

Great site for with interesting remnants of industrial history set in a nice green valley. Do not drink the water because of the saltpetre. (For overnight stays, Tranque Santa Fe, further south on Ruta 5, is much better. See separate pin for directions because it isn't so well sign posted)

Nice dam and impressive to see a river in the middle of nowhere. For sure possible to sleep here.

Very cool and impressive place, still accessible.

Very interesting piece of industrial history and great site for atmospheric photos. It is very much litter strewn and not at all maintained, as mentioned by others. For a better overnight spot, go slightly further south along Ruta 5 to Tranque Santa Fe (see separate pin on map for directions as it's not so well sign posted).

Interesting stop along Ruta 5. Unfortunately the information panel is completely sun bleached. We had a walk through the old buildings, the sluice and dam. Quite a bit of garbage around, brokers glass and old metal, so be careful with kids.

I guess it would be possible to overnight too, either just inside or outside the fenced area. Not suitable for big rigs though. Cyclists may find shelter in one of the derilict buildings.

Amazing! I was not expecting the generator station to have so much left of the generator! Great photo site, especially in the morning when the sun shines through the windows!

Another perfect place for photography. Nice old dam with power house. Some stairs are bit sketchy. Be careful, the place is not maintained at all. Worth a visit (I stayed about 1h in the morning and slept on the parking lot the night before - hidden from the road and very quiet)

Report Check-In

Great site with nice green valley. Do not drink the water because of the saltpeter!

Ancient Dam with power station from 1911. Seems not to be officially open but the gate was not closed. Be carefully when descending to the generator house! Enter at your own risk! See the photos. Please: do not pillage!
