huge, amazing area, lots of space, nice views, some Level, some mex came around asked for cigarrets or beer, leave when we dont gave them anything, some bikes passed, quite at night, perfect place to sleep

Calle tranquila para pasar la noche. Contra esquina de la parroquia de La Asunción a unas cuadras de la plaza principal.

It’s interesting how many posts here said police escorted travelers to the soccer field in town to sleep. I drove to the soccer field to avoid having to move again, but struggled to find it. I asked police for help and they escorted me up here, saying it’s safer. Hmmm.

It could be because covid so less people are coming up here, but I sure found it ironic. Ha. Oh, and the police came back in the morning (a few minutes ago) to check on me. I’m amazed and blown away! 😀

Beautiful spot, not too much trash around, only a couple bikes went by around 6pm. We actually didn't end up sleeping here tonight because the police municipal came by around 8pm (after a drive by shortly after we arrived) and recommended to stay at the soccer field for increased safety. They did tell us that someone else stayed 2 nights ago and another lady stayed recently for 4 nights with no issues so whether anything bad has actually happened to anyone out here or not, who knows...there were beer xans and condoms on the ground nearby so maybe it's a hookup spot? They told us it's up to us if we moved or not and they'd check in the morning on us if we stayed there (nice guys really, totally not corrupt).

Found the place easily. Parked rv and drove car to San Miguel and Guanajuato.
Spent four lovely quiet days and night before the cops came. they said it wasn't safe. Were shocked that I had been there for so long. Told them I would leave next day. They left me their card to call for any problem. The cops are overly cautious. But were please to see my large dog. I did leave the next morning.
I loved the spot. Super quiet but for a farmer. Road in is a bit rocky but had no trouble with my 25' Class C towing my car.

We took a different road to the right of the GPS location which came to a dead end. Not sure if its better or worse but flat and pretty hidden from the road!
Only saw a few cabras and a herder at one point but we were completely undisturbed!

Amazing place!! But police came twice to tell us it's "really not safe" and they escort us to another free campspot: "soccer field"...

Pretty damn nice boondocking spot in the mountains Mexico! I’ll wait to see if I get kicked out before the nights over?
No amenities, but quite and free!
Just north of Deloris Hidalgo.

Really nice place. Spent a quiet night there, no one came.

Great place! Thank for finding this one. The unpaved track from the mainroad is ok, no need for 4wd or high clearance. I think the spot is accessible for all rigs, except maybe the largest 2wd mobile homes. We didn't follow the track through the settlement but came direct from the 110 from the south, only 400 metres to this spot from there. You could walk the track first to check it out. We spend an extra day here. Quiet and peaceful.
