We parked further up the dirt street in front of/on the corner of a house with a giant bougainvillea tree. A sign nearby said 80 pesos but no one ever came to collect. Very close to the bridge & trail to Playa Las Animas - worth the trek! Loud with dogs and music thru the night but can’t complain as it was free. Public bathroom nearby was closed but free banos beside the beach restaurant. On the way out of town, up the steep hill, is an awesome little Paneria selling agua fresca and cheap baked goods. Yummy after the big walk.

tout petit village très agréable mais pas beaucoup de place pour stationner, sur le parking le gardien n'a pas voulu qu'on rentre car avec notre camper de 7 mètres nous étions, soit disant, trop grand. nous avons trouvé une place a 18 h un peu plus loin. Tranquille toute la nuit.

I‘m surprised about all the positive words, we didnt like it at all. We parked in front of the fence as the fenced in parking locks at 8pm and you cant get out anymore (not even walking), so that was not an option. Nobody was at „our“ parking lot but somebody came the next morning and wanted 150 pesos as we were „so big“, we left early in the morning (so not 24h) and paid 100 pesos. The town was dirty, the beach super small and everything was closed. Yes, the bay looks pretty on a picture but at least in low season, it really doesnt have any charme at all.

Very nice place ! Yes it's a parking lot but in a lovely village ! Nice view, free water.
Bathroom for 5pesos near this place.
Charge 100pesos for 24h.
Very friendly! Water hose for "showers".

We stayed at the regular free parkinglot by the shower/toilet house (5 Pesos for cold shower/toilet). We felt save and it was quite busy until the sunset but from then it was quiet. We liked this small village and the feeling of it, some locals came over for a smalltalk. There where some roosters nearby which startet to make some noise away from 4 o‘clock in the morning, maybe better to stay more „north“ of the parkinglot ;-) absolut ok place for one night.

100p per night. Parked in tight lot against fence. View of bay and small town. Great restaurant on beach. Wouldn’t take anything larger than Sprinter van here.

This is a parking lot that allows overnight parking. It appears that you can park outside the fence for free, but there was no parking available other than inside the fence when we visited. That said, it was $5USD for 24 hours. Very friendly guys working the lot. 10 miles southwest of Puerto Vallarta. Roosters crowed and dogs barked all night in the canyon here but we couldn't complain considering the price. As you approach Boca de Tomatlan, drive down the very steep road straight through town until you reach the bottom of the drainage. Cute little town. I wouldn't recommend anything bigger than a truck/van.
