this is a dirt road going from Tongoy to Ruta 5
the beaches where packed so we took this lite scenery drive and just stopped in one of the little turnouts along the route
we could see the highway in the far but no noise
much nicer and quieter than a rest stop or a busy town in season
dirt road is in good condition / just one car passed in the afternoon
and the best- absolutely no trash around
Free!
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
For emergency camp it’s ok. You have to camp on the road as it is fenced on both sides the entire way. Luckily on a Saturday night only 2 cars passed before 11pm. After that no one passed by. You can only park on the dirt road. Some areas are wider than others. We thought there might be a side road to sneak off onto, but there was not. Nice wind, sunset and no bugs.
