Description

Alright, this is a quieter version of the too popular playa tecolote.

Direction.

When arriving, you'll see all the restaurants and stuff in of you. Turn right on the beach or on one of the many back roads. Keep going East until you're almost at the middle of the beach. Now, find the road that lead towards the mountain range (South). With chance or some willpower, you'll find a quiet spot among cactus. Muy tranquilo.

Latest Check-Ins

The beach was PACKED for the holiday, so we opted for the desert side and found a nice private spot tucked at the base of the hills. Easy walking distance to the beach but no neighbors. However, the next morning a local gentleman on an ATV drove up to us and informed us that we actually cannot park/camp here. He directed us toward the beach with everyone else. We apologized and he was polite about it, didn't matter much to us anyway as we were already planning on moving on.

I suspect that area is also considered part of the PROPIEDAD PRIVADA S.A., which you see several giant signs for as you drive in to Tecolote area. (However if you enter from the beach area, there are no signs, so not sure where that invisible boundary is drawn)

Anyways, try your luck, but know that you may be asked to move.

Spent 4 nights here on a beautiful sandy beach. Beach side bars a walk away. No services except garbage but LaPaz about 30 minutes away.

Nice sandy beach, soft sand, gentle waves. Snorkeling, and boarding options. No services here but outside bars are within walking distance. Intend to mountain bike back to Balandra Beach.
