Description

Public beach parking lot near the shuttered hotel. When you get to the guard shack, tell him your going to the playa publica and he'll let you through. The guards are here to make sure you don't enter the hotel. (Apparently they've had trouble with squatters, though they don't seem to have a problem with short term parking lot camping.) No services, but I do see some porta-potties on the other side of the fence. The snorkeling here gets rave reviews, but with the current high surf conditions visibility is too poor for me to independently verify that claim. Awesome rock formations down by the ocean, and small tide pools where you can collect sea salt. One other camper here tonight, and they're running a generator. 😔

very good place . We spent one night and it was safe!!

All earlier comments correct, only today you’re not allowed to drive on the beach anymore. You have to park and camp next to the shed from the guard and the track entrance to the beach is blocked with a gate and pylons.
Beach is beautiful but the parking lot isn’t

Beautiful place to camp for the night. limited telcel connection in the parking lot, nothing on the beach. Incredible beach to watch the sunset at.

Wow. Amazing beach. Free porta potty and guards stay over 24 hours so def safe. If you feel generous bring the guards some beers. They will take care of you ( they like Tecate roja) free camping saw a pod of dolphins in the morning one of the days. Snorkeling to the left hand side by the side of the hotel is top notch. Saw like 30 puffer fish together, an eel ,some cool fish. Be careful as I got stung by jellyfish larvae and it was pretty itchy ( like 300 bites ) no shower or 4g. But right outside the parking lot you can get signal. Bring an umbrella - no shade. Stayed 3 nights. Super clear water - lots of shells , really safe

We went in for the day and had planned to stay the night but then our plans changed. The place seems fine and as described in earlier posts.
