really nice place, possible to tent under a palapa or in the grass right on the shore.

Jorge, the caretaker, was a bit shy but nice guy. the second night he let us camp under a palapa for no extra cost because it was raining.

note : the terrain becomes swampy after heavy rain, be careful where you put your tent. Ask the guy in charge to show you a good spot or use a palapa.

Report Check-In

Nice place with a big grass area. Parking with shadow and lagoon views. Dock, water not so clear. Safe and quiet.
No shower, bathrooms are not the cleanest.
Palapas and place for BBQ.
$100 p/adult. $50 for 3 kids
Staff not so nice. Amir the guy that offers tours is very nice and helpful

Report Check-In

Don't understand the negative comments. We have been here for nearly two weeks and would recommend. The place is nice and big, the care takers are really nice!

Report Check-In

Very bad dishonesty experience! Arrived on the scene, I ask the price. The manager tells me 100pp. It's ok for us. Another family arrives at the same time and calls us to know the price before committing. We answer him 100pp. So they ask the manager and he answers them 200pp. They refuse and ask him why we pay 100pp and they pay 200pp. Uncomfortable in front of his dishonesty the manager throws us out claiming that giving the price we pay is not correct. In short, despite the pretty site, I strongly recommend a campsite 20km further (buenavista) just as pretty, with a real playground for children and a superb view for less 300p/vehicle/night.

Report Check-In

Stayed one night, good place but not welcoming.
Price is always different, for us it was 100pp +100p for the véhicule,
2 other families was 600 and 450p 🤷‍♂️.

They didn’t let us fill our water. We moved next to the other camping.

Report Check-In

Not worth 300 peso. very poorly maintained place. Specifically, the access to the square is very bumpy.
The sanitary facility is an impertinence, even for Central America.
if you visit Balneario Buenavista than you know what I'm talking about.

Report Check-In

Nice quiet place, grassy area directly on the Laguna. Bathroom and shower simply but clean. 300 pesos for 2 in a Van.

Report Check-In

Good place to stay at the Laguna. Bathroom is not the cleanest, but very friendly host/guard.

Report Check-In

The water is great for a swim. It was strange though because the guy would only let us camp for one night and wanted to ensure we were leaving early in the morning (maybe because of the construction mentioned in the last post, unsure). Dogs aren’t allowed, but we convinced him otherwise for one night. There was broken glass and our dog cut his foot so maybe that’s why? Keep your shoes on. The bathrooms aren’t great. 100 pesos per person.

Report Check-In

we stayed here for 2 nights with our camper and payed 100 Pesos per Person per night.
It's a nice grass area for camping directly on the lagune. On the weekend very busy.
unfortunately the toilets were very dirty. But in total we had a nice Time here.

Report Check-In

We had a very noisy night and in the morning we woke up surrounded by a lot of very loud workers. we had to move away our tent at 8 am... after talking with the owner for a discount (and we paid 100 pesos per person!!!) she didn't accept it! I can not recommend this place!
otherwise it's a nice place with bad bathrooms.

Report Check-In

We spent 2 nights there. Quiet place in weekdays, access to the water, nice palapas, rustic toilets/shower, not leveled
100pp per night
10min walk from center

Report Check-In

We paid 80$ p.p. Very quite at night: no dogs or donkeys or monkeys or cooks crying ☺
But very basic ...

Report Check-In

Beautiful place at the lake. Grass, picknick tables (with an electricity point) and close to Bacalar Pueblo. Very peaceful here, except for the nights in de weekend(there is a club next door). Perfect for children, because the water is very undeep in the beginning. Available for big campers. Hard to level the car. Shade from the palm trees. Toilets are really basic, not even toilet paper. No wifi or electricity.

Report Check-In

Beautiful place to stay, lawn, palm trees and in the lake. Excellent place to swim. It is near the center, 10 minutes walking, very quiet and the most economical we have found in Bacalar, 120 pesos per night for a 21ft rv and two people (in high season it rises to $ 180) You have showers and wc, not available Of electricity. The place has palapas and shade. The managers are very kind. You can take boat trips from here. Security since the couple responsible for the place and the owners of the boats sleep here.

Report Check-In

Quiet place, stayed for 1 night. 100 x person. 15 minute walk to town

Report Check-In

there are two families running the place and they always change after some weeks. I think thats why there are different prices.
I really liked the place. We paid 140 pesos per night for a camper van and two people. stayed for 4 nights

its very quiet. nice to go swimming and relax. good spot to visit Bacalar

Report Check-In

lugar magnifico, cerca del pueblo, muy tranquilo, 100 pesos X persona.

Report Check-In

The place in fact is nice and we can agree the informations Traveller wrote.
But, as Manager Mario told us, people like us in camper are not welcome. We asked why - he couldn’t give a satisfying answer. Maybe people are using electricity or water.
After a long discussion he reduced the first called price from 150 Pesos pp to 100 because we are not plugged in. We cannot really recommend this place.

Report Check-In

As described.
Lovely place, may be crowded during day, specially weekends . Always quiet at night.
Sketchy electricity but ok.
Big rig friendly 👌🏻
They are not used to long term campers though, but the place it's perfect.
It's 80 pp/night . We payed 120 a night for 30 nights, wasn't easy to deal. 26ft motorhome a couple and 1 kid with a dog. Seems good price
We'll be there from 1st/sept till 23/sept. 😉

Report Check-In

watch out ! ask for the price in writing. we paid at the end of the first week 700 pesos. at the end of the second the manager (Mario) ask 1050 and 350 more for the first week. we say no and paid only 700 for the second.

Balneario just out of town of Bacalar, a small dirt road off the highway (slippery when wet!)
Very quiet place during the week, on a Saturday there was a Mexican fiesta with loud music going on.
Nice swimming in the lagoon from the little wooden pier or the sandy beach on the other side. Palapas for shade available and a main palapa with electricity and a fire place. Toilet and outdoor shower available, although not very clean.
100 Pesos pp per night, a bit pricy but we prefered this place over famous Cocalitos with it's busy day-use guests & restaurant

Report Check-In

Still don't know the name. There is some writing in the wall about a union. Shower in ladie's room. pitched my tent under the roofed patio as it threatened to rain. Beautiful sunrise. Access to power under the patio

Report Check-In

Possibly named "Sarge's" but no signs. Palapas. Fire/grill pit. Good shore line. Shade. Grass. Some flat parking. Not really set up for vehicle/RV campers, but willing to take us on weekdays. Maybe better for tents. He said it gets crazy on weekends. Charged $100mex per person plus $100mex for "camper". We ran extension cord to electric at main palapa. Indoor and outdoor showers. Toilet. Could all be a mess when wet and rainy. I wouldn't bring a trailer in here (no where to turn) but it worked well for our truck camper.
