Beautiful place to spend several nights and get to know this incredible Archaeological site. In the lithic museum there are bathrooms that can help you. You can also go to Agustín (his point is marked in Ioverlander) they have a very nice community museum and he has a hot shower for 5 Bo.

We slept here two nights, very quiet and safe. We have 4G with Entel and Claro (use VIVA). If you need better signal, you have to go to the main square.

Dormimos acá 2 noches. Muy tranquilo y seguro. Había señal de 4G con Entel y Claro (VIVA). Si necesitas mejor señal, tenes que ir al centro.

i jist parked around 8pm.a police man on foot came with a flashlight ,ask me passport(?) when I told me i wanted to wait the morning there in camper to visit Tiwanaku he said it was not safe there! to moce to the plaza better..he asked me: (spanish)what if a car of attackers/contrabanders etc. stops near u?!?infact that can be anywhere/anytime! people that write that "feel safe" on here, have oviusly no idea! and that false sense of security to others should be avoided!

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Spent a quiet night right in front of the entrance at the parking. Quite cold at night.

Report Check-In

As described before, quiet night. It's possible to use the bathroom during museum opening hours.

as all descriptions said. good spot. a it comd during the night but uyuni was worst

Report Check-In

Quiet and safe. it was less cold than in the airport of La Paz. Be careful if it's rainy season, a big part of the parking may become a giant swimming pool! The site is worth it, especially the monolithics and the puerta del Sol, but Puma Punku is not much.

Report Check-In

Amplia área de parqueo frente al complejo Tiwanaco. Lugar seguro y vigilado por la policia. Debe tene en cuenta la altura, hace frío y a mi me toco soportar intensa lluvia. Yo disfrute la campaña.

Report Check-In

Good spot. Very interesting archaeological site. The touristic buses and train from la Paz arrive at 10 am, before it's very quiet.

Report Check-In

Camped here last night, it was freezing, there was even ice in our tents! The ruins were slightly disappointing but the museums were great! there's even toilet paper in the toilets. Buses and cars start to arrive at 8AM, but no one will bother you, even if your tent is up! the entrance costs 100bo, but it's worth it!

Report Check-In

Yes it is a nice place and quiet during the night. And cold (had ice at the Windows and a bit inside)! At around 8am, some people collecting trash and prepare everything for the visitors. There are 2 museums, 1 with statues, 1 with ceramic. And of course Puma Punku and the archeologic site of Tiwanaku. All including the 100 Bolivianos per person.

Great spot to park and sleep in the car. Very quiet at night and super close to all the attractions during the day. Also there is a trash can and tables with benches in the parking area which are great for cooking. Around 8am people start showing up

the 2 museos and the 2 archaelogical sites are very interesting and the 100 Bol pP worth; you can use the tickets for every site only once, but it's possible to visit them at different days if you get a new date stamp at the ticket office; open from 9:00 to 17:00; last ticket sell at 16:00; some restaurants and kiosks nearby; we had a quiet night at the parkinglot

Report Check-In

We spend a really good night here. Very quiet. The main site is really worth the detour.

Report Check-In

15 B for nationals, 5 B for local students (no discount for international students) , 100 B for for foreigners. 2 Sites and 2 Museums. Not sure if it's worth it as we weren't willing to pay that price and it didn't look spectacular from the outside.

Report Check-In

Parking lot next to the museum. Quiet at night. No facilities except toilets in museum. Free.

Report Check-In

Local says it's still ok to park overnight here (but we had an other option)

Report Check-In

Really big, flat grassy area with adjecent paved parking lot. We chose to stay on the grass, next to one of the covered seating areas. Also there are trash bins. The next morning a local woman arrived with a group of sheep and visitors started to arrive for the museums. We spent a really good and quiet night.

Report Check-In
