Description

A series of waterfalls, with two large ones at the top, with beautiful large pools great for swimming located on the road to Nueva Palentina (off MEX 307). At sunset, you can watch the swallows (golondrinas) fly through the gaps in the waterfall back to their roosting/nesting area behind the waterfall. The cost is 25 pesos/person to enter. You also have to pay 20 pesos/person (community entry fee) when you turn off MEX 307 to the small road to the falls. We paid 50 pesos/person to tent camp in the parking lot with access all night to the clean flush toilets (with toilet paper) and showers. There are also rooms and cabanas for rent but here is no electricity onsite. And no restaurant, only snacks for sale. The caretaker offered for us to camp under a palapa close to the bathrooms but we wanted to camp next to our truck (for easy access to our stuff). He was very nice. He locked the gate to the parking lot around 8pm and patrolled the lot a few times during the night to make sure all was well. We were also able to enjoy the waterfalls the next day until noon without paying the entry fee again. A beautiful, well maintained spot to relax and swim.

amazing to cool down, parking lot for all kinds of rig, last 1 km dschungle road, 10km from Main road best road in Mexiko, Fall Pools amazing for refreshing, shower and Toilette, 100P per Car, 25PpP entrance fee, we were alone at 3pm, the gate closed at 6pm, absolutly dark and quite, very good place to relax and sleep, but ofcourse ants and mosquitos

Report Check-In

As mentioned before, road is now paved and in very good shape. We had no problems with our big rig (9m long, 3.85m high) to reach the place. It was great cooling off in the falls and pools after our visit to Yaxchilan in the morning. Entrance for falls is 25P/person and it is 100P to stay the night. We were there on a Sunday so it was a bit busy with day visitors and the water in the regular showers was gone at the time we wanted to take a shower - they were kind enough to open one of their hotel rooms that are a bit lower for us to use the showers there.

The cost to camp on the parking lot is 100 pesos per car. The access to the falls is 25 pesos per person (children pay also). Unfortunately for us today staff was rude and unfriendly and there had no water in toilet and shower. If you have visited Roberto Barrios or Agua Azul just before, this site is really less nice but it is still refreshing.

Report Check-In

Coming from the 307 the road is fully paved now and in excellent condition. There are showers now at the place.

Nice & quiet night, refreshing swimming 😍 dogs are welcome in whole area.

Lovely place to camp! It’s the parking lot, but it’s quite lush with a waterfall next to it that will lull you to sleep. Toilets are super clean, no showers. There’s a tap beside the women’s washroom that you can use for a bucket shower if you need it. Thought I’d mention that there is a big tiled area with a roof right beside the parking lot if you need to tent camp out of the rain.
Same price as everyone else said. Better than the Lancanja options in my opinion!

Report Check-In

Great place to camp. As stated, 150 per night for two, including entrance to waterfalls. Two ‘guards’ at night (don’t expect anything too impressive) and they close the gate at night. Clean flush toilets (no showers). We had the place to ourselves.

Report Check-In

Wir haben eine Nacht dort verbracht. Alles sicher und die Wasserfälle sind wunderschön.

There are 2 security guards at this place. They close the gate for the night, they said it was safe so we stayed. They charged 150 mxn for 1 night for 2 adults with a baby and the entrance to the waterfalls (it is 25 mxn pp). The road to this place is very rough, big holes so take your time to drive when turn off 307.

Overnight parking in the parking lot of Cascada las Golondrinas. First they did not want us to camp here because of the Corona Virus but after some talking it was ok. Ejido fee: 30 Peso p.P., Entrance fee 25 Peso p.P., Camping 100 Peso per car. The waterfall is very nice, the swimming in the 25°C water refreshing. One hour before sunset you can see the swallows circling around and at sunset the are moving into their cave in small groups. In the morning they startet flying out 15 Minutes before sunrise and it took 5 minutes for them all to leave the cave. We estimate that there were 300 birds.

Stayed one night. Very quiet and calm place. Lots of tropical plants around. Good and clean toilets. No showers though. Swallows kept returning to cave long after sunset. Entrance 25pesos pp, camping 50pesos pp. There's also rooms to rent. All buildings are new.

The waterfalls are really nice, but the golondrinas are amazing! They come to the cave between 17:15 and 17:45 (They must have a watch!) It is wonderful to see them coming down from the sky and fly into their home! The campground for RVs is a parking lot. But quiet and nice. The toilets are behindert the entrance.

Just stopped to refresh in the pools. Very nice! We were the only people on Thursday noon.

Lovely waterfalls. Seeing the swallows go into the caves at dusk is pretty cool too. Guys were friendly enough. Price 20pesos pp 'community fee' at the junction. 25pesos pp to enter the falls. 50 pesos pp to camp.

Beautiful cascades, better avoid weekends, very low prices

Didn't like it at all... The guard was kind of unfriendly. Not good for sleeping in tent. No infrastructure to shower etc... And I also didn't like the fancy, artificial entrance... Didn't stay...

Report Check-In

We came in from the dirt road from Metzabok and Naha Laguna so we didn’t get asked for the ‘community fee’ - when we arrived at 6pm (hora nueva) we paid 50 per person to park/camp the night and 25 per person for entrance until 4:30 the next day when the boys would clock off. The night guard took us around the waterfall and said twice he’d advise us when the swallows would return to the cave. As the time had changed recently it was all a bit confusing as he was still working on ‘normal time’ - anyhow we missed majority of it and seen the last of the flock return so make sure you’re at the waterfall as the sun is setting - you get a great view from the car park of sunset but won’t see the swallows hence how we missed the main event lol. It’s a beautiful place and definitely worth the stop if travelling on the 307 - toilets are well maintained and all info correct from previous entries. Camping available on sight in tiled palapas or in the car park but quite gravely. Visitors arrive from 11am so you have the place to yourself beforehand.
