The most wonderful place in Uruguay!!! The other spots marked nearby basically don't exist. We arrived late in the night and luckily for us we met David on the small track. .he invited us to stay overnight on his ranch, which we did..3 weeks later weeks left. This is the most beautiful place to spend a few day's in the middle of nowhere. They also have 2 rustic cabins for rent and horses, cows, sheep, dogs ..great for kids..milking cows etc.. and guided tours of the area...If your in the area, give Nathaly a call and visit them for a few days...give them your support with their young tourist business. .it's worth it!!...Here their contact details : @miradoresdelvalle -Facebook WhatsApp. .+59898149294 tel..+59891515186 Nathaly Olivera.

I decided to visit having read the comments of previous guests and I wasn't disappointed. Nathalie communicated very professionally and efficiently throughout, and made sure I took a certain route, to avoid a difficult section around an unfinished bridge. I was welcomed by David her father who was super welcoming and hospitable. Sadly I only had two nights, but took a walk to arroyo Lunarejo in the morning if my full day which was nice for a swim.
The location is amazing and if you like star gazing it's perfect. Facilities are rustic but very well done, clean, and comfortable. I hope I get a chance to go back for longer.

What's a wonderful place to stay in Uruguay!! super friendly and hospitable house family. The ablutions are new and very clean with a kitchen, hot shower and dining on the patio with a fireplace. You can walk or ride horses to a nearby waterfall. Natalie is very knowledgeable about the area and her sister Paula is a horse whisperer. This is a real Uruguayan estancia where they farm with cattle, sheep and horses. We had a lovely time and will definitely be back. We paid 300pesos pp per night and 400 pesos pp for the walk.

Warm welcoming. Tranquillo place.
Nathali‘s number is the first. The second belongs now to another person. Don’t call the second.

The most beautiful place we have stayed in Uruguay. It’s a farm with lot of animals, lovely dogs & extrem friendly owners! They also organized horses-tours to discover the place. We did it & it was amazing! Hot showers, Wi-Fi, 700 pesos pro night (2 people & 1 car). Thank you so much David & Nathaly, we had a wonderful time here! 💛

Place is as described. Yes, the valle del lunarejo is a beautiful spot in Uruguay (one of our favourites in UY), the landscape is absolutely beautiful, the Estancia is nice with clean facilities. However this is only half the truth. Nataly and her family are such wonderful and caring hosts that you feel welcomed right from the very beginning, like being part of the family. We strongly recommend to step by and spend a few nights. We paid 350.- pp. If you do the mirador/cascada hike, it‘s another 450.- pp.

We stayed 8 nights at this lovely ecological farm. The family invites you to their daily life.
They have plenty of animals around (some cute young ones to play with)
They also have 2 cabins (5 & 6 persons) to rent. Kitchen, hot shower and running water.
Ask them to join for lunch and/or diner!
Young Nathaly will be your host as sister Paula will take you on horse riding. Ask them to show you around in their pick-up. David and Silvia will take care of you for a laughter or for some great food.

There are two ways to reach the campside. Both unpaved. 4x4 good during all weather conditions. Other vehicles just check with Nathaly on forehand.
Contactdetails in previous posts.

Make sure to bring cash, groceries and a full fueltank as this is only available 45 mn drive (again unpaved).

Enjoy this authentic stay!

A perfect place in the middle of nowhere - especially when traveling with kids. They have a lot of animals there - dogs, cats, rabbits, chicken, horses, cows... and a lot to discover. Nathaly and her family are very welcoming and warmhearted.

Wonderful young eco-tourism ranch - 21yo Nathaly runs it like a pro, and is very keen on making sure you have an awesome stay. You can have authentic gaucho experience here, even if you don’t pay for the horseback riding or vehicle tour of the valley! If you want you can just hang around and watch the family do their ranch thing, plus you can play soccer with the youngest family member and his dog. Family is very welcoming and love to educate guests on eco-agro practices, wildlife, and local flora.
Price for camping is a bit steep - we stayed in our rooftop tent and only used the bathroom block, but paid 700 Pesos per night. You can also rent one of the two cabañas - not sure what that costs. We did the horseback riding tour, which was awesome, for 500 Pesos per person, and the vehicle tour, which was also great, at 1400 Pesos total. ** Make sure you bring enough cash, as they do not take credit card or PayPal.
Best part of the stay is definitely the family members - we really enjoyed meeting and hanging out with all of them, and had a wonderful Uruguayan experience - highly recommend!

Eco & Agro tourism in valle Lunarejo. Very kind & communicative people. Gaucho experience. Basic accommodation for camping. Full board possible. 2 cabañas on the premises. Spanish and Portugese spoken. Working ranch with 40 cows, 30 horses and 100+ sheep.

Coming from Montevideo, drive past Tranqueras and take southward bound dirt road +/- at Km 248. Follow the signs. Some routes are impassable after down poor, so better check with Nathaly beforehand via WhatsApp!
