Something not right?

Description

While Playa Ligüi tends to be quite busy, on this beach chances are high to be alone. To get there leave the highway at km 87. From there it's less than a km to the first beach, drivable with almost any vehicle. To reach the mapped place just drive around the hill at the southern end of the bay. 4X4 is advisable there due to soft sand.

Latest Check-Ins

There were about 8 very larger pull behind campers. Used to be a quiet unknown beach.

Very good spot. Felt safe as solo female traveler. Was alone on a sunday night except for some Mexicans that came by picking clams I believe. Please don't ruin this spot!

Report Check-In

The road in from the highway is in really bad shape now. There are many pockets of deep silt sand where you will get stuck with 2WD, but it's possible to pick your way around carefully. Don't attempt to drive in here in the dark, or you'll get stuck! There is one silt section that's unavoidable on the section of road just before the beach. I was able to make it through in a 2wd promaster, but it was sketchy. As others have mentioned, stay off this road if you value your paint job!

A tangle of roads to get in here, done with very soft sand. Great beach camping, very quiet.

Exactly like described. There is just a gate now you have to open. The road is definitely for bike or regular cars, not for big rigs.
Wonderful beach, quiet, clean, nobody was there. We pitched our tent close to some bushes cause of the wind. We went to swim for the sunset, the water was freaking good !

If you visit this campsite, come prepared with the right vehicle. I would not recommend it for large or wide rigs as the road in is extremely narrow and lined tightly with cactuses that scratched the sides of my trailer. Additionally, while I camped there I watched 2 different cars without 4wd get stuck in the sand. Also, thefts have recently been reported here, so keep an eye on your personal items. That said, it's an average rocky beach that doesn't offer much protection from the wind. May be good for a quick overnight if you have the right vehicle.

Nice place, rocky beach and a great view. Were alone and felt safe.

very cool camping site. drive along the side of the rocky beach if there haven't been recent rains. 2wd vehicles can get stuck on what seems sturdy ground. we got stuck but were able to get out pretty easy. great snorkeling around the southern cliff. careful with rattle snakes. dont let that put you off though.
