Latest Check-Ins

Nice community owned campsite on the rim of the crater lake. Several leveled spots to put tent on. New spot down the crater at lake shore, but quite a walk. Best for backpackers.
No WiFi. Cold shower with minimal water pressure.
Had good diner and breakfast at the restaurant.
Camping 40.000 UGX pppn

Report Check-In

One of the best campsites, if not even the best we have been in Uganda. Very cosy, good infrastructure. If you do camping you can have a hot shower in one the bandas which they rent.
The owner David is a very nice and kind person. Medie, the manager, is a very friendly and smart person. We liked him very much. Had several interesting discussions with him and his boss. He did prepare a fire every evening and we all joined there after dinner.
You can visit a nice cave and swim un the lake. Both are only 200m away. You do not feel isolated from the community like in a lot if other campsites. This is because there are always some locals are visiting the cave.
We can really reccon the place. We stayed in our truck for four nights. Price for camping is still $10 pppn.

They have added more camping sites more private than the open ground when you drive in.

Report Check-In

Very compact community campsite at a beautiful setting, but no privacy. Staff very friendly, but it was not a place for us, because of above reason and decided to move on.

Report Check-In

Beautiful place with new ablution block, lot of chill out places, bar and restaurant, herbal garden, little cultural museum,
interesting cave, walks around the Crater lakes. Very friendly staff. They are busy building a beautiful area for camping, with kitchen area, own bar plus a wooden deck at the lake. We stayed 3 nights. Highly recommended. New price 15 US$, but we negotiated it down.

Report Check-In

Very basic and run down, no running water in the toilet and toilet not clean. Hot water from donkey shower in a banda. The owner David is very friendly. They charged 15$ pppn but we negociated down to 10$. Still absolutly overpriced! And after the shower didn't become hot we moved to another place. For this price we would not recomment.
