Description

Relaxed hostal for every budget; hammocks, dorms, camping spots and tastefull private rooms. Very nice communal kitchen. Very friendly owners and staff. (In our experience way friendlier than staff at the neighbouring 'Refugio la Roca'. Walking distance of the rock climbing park. Possible to rent climbing gear at the hostal.

Word of warning, it’s throws off fancy hotel vibes, not hostel! We went to inquire about camping and were told it’s not an option. The only room they had left was 300,000COP per night. Maybe it’s worth it for rock climbers, and those on a big budget, wasn’t a good option for us.

I went here specifically because people said how nice there were here, but the young guy working was very rude to me. They only had expensive rooms available, which he wouldn't show me and instead told me to look at photos on Instagram. When I realized much of the area was expensive, I considered staying but this guy continued to be rude so I left. No way I want to give them my money. I went to Cabañas La Carolina and they were extremely friendly and kind... As most Colombians are. It was a cute cabin and even sent a complimentary breakfast to my cabin simply because they were impressed that I was overlanding.

We love this place! They let us bring our dog because someone had previously listed it as pet friendly, but wanted us to change it to “no dogs allowed.” There are a bunch of dogs who live at the Refugio next door, and everyone here just wants things to be super chill at all times. Paid about 108,000 cop per night for a private room, and a fair amount more for the nights we reserved on Booking.com (we stayed extra nights since we liked it so much). They let us put our daughter in a cot in the room. There were also a few kids a few nights in the dorm area I think. The food here is amazing. Thw view is great. The staff is very attentive. Of course the climbing is amazing. We also found it convenient to drive 30 min over to the cable car station (Teleferico) and visit the National Park & Water Park for the day, from here. Plenary of room for small to medium sized rigs. Pretty steep dirt driveway.
