Something not right?

Description

Basic campsite just next to waterfalls. Bucket flush toilet, no showers (you can use clean water and a bucket). It's 90 per person including entrance to waterfalls. Quiet and safe place. Camping cost 50 pesos pp and entrance 40 pesos pp

You have to go 700 meters gravel road (a bit further that point on the map).

Waterfalls are the same what Roberto Barrios but with access from the other side of the river. While other side is crowded, here are almost no people.

In this 'ecoturismo' they burn plastic bottles so take your rubbish with you.

Report Check-In

Large open grassy area. Only person here so far mid week. 100 peso camp plus cascades. Take the right hand turning as you come around the bend down to the bridge. If you go over the bridge and continue you end up in the village, you can park and camp in the car park there for 50 peso. But it’s not a nice location you have to then walk to the falls you cannot camp near the falls at that side - they don’t tell you about this location which is far better and definitely worth the extra $50 peso. The falls and the jungle of paths are literally on you door step this side. Definitely beats Aqua Azul - tourist nightmare, even though I did snag free camping it didn’t feel safe.

Report Check-In

40ppp entrance fee, 50ppp camping fee.
Great falls, in the mornings and evenings you have them completely for yourself.
Nice and shaded area were you can park your car! Very silent nights.
I can totally recommend this place!

(But usually you have to pay 10ppp toll to get here…)

Report Check-In

Nice spot for a night, exactly as described. It was incredibly hot and sweaty when we came here so the waterfalls were a little piece of heaven for us. All the different tiers of the waterfall are reachable from this side of the river.

Report Check-In

A ok spot to visit the waterfall. The place you park is quit busy during the day. They wanted 150 pesos extra for using electrics - we agree on 100.

Report Check-In

Thought I would add a review because there hasn’t been a check-in for a while.

Price 80p per adult still, children free. Really nice campsite, lots of shade, you can camp anywhere so easy to find a flat spot. Bathrooms are basic but very clean.

Waterfalls are amazing. You’ll have them to yourselves after 6pm, and I highly recommend going down to the lower falls first thing in the morning and watching the sun hit them. Its spectacular, and again you’ll have them to yourself.

Such a great place to spend the day and night. We loved the waterfalls, we think this place is better than Semuc Champey. The camping is basic, but having the place all to yourself the final hours before sunset is worth it alone!

Report Check-In

I got to this place by accident and stayed the day and camped. Super nice access to the waterfalls. Locals come to spend the day. 30pp and another 50 if camping. Beautiful!
No cel signal. They got WiFi for 20/h. Restaurant on site. Clean bathrooms. No Shower. Beautiful place. Several pools.

Report Check-In

very nice spot!
mostly because of the setting : on grass surrounded by trees, just next to those beautiful waterfalls.
the great thing is that you can climb the waterfalls, jump in the deep water, or walking down them on all the different stairs of the waterfalls.
it's 50 pesos per adult per night and 30 pesos per adult per day to access the waterfalls.
but we manage not to pay the waterfalls fee the second day, as we stayed 2 nights.
so we payed 160 the first day and 100 the second for 2 person 2 kids and a big rig

Paradise.
We liked this falls and Camping more then AguaAzul. You can swim wherever you want climb all the falls (not slippery), jump off the falls or slide down with a plastic bottle underneath your butt.
Camping is peaceful and nice grass and with access to toilets and water.

This place is great for visiting the cascades for the day and for camping overnight also. I had difficulty finding it yesterday due to competing locations and signs so I’ll paste the coordinates here: 17.33153, -91.92347 This side is far and away nicer than the town side.

Report Check-In

Stayed one night. Cascades and falls are very beautiful. You can climb up and down almost everywhere because the rocks are not slippery. The campsite is basic, but toilets are clean. Its hard to find a leveled spot. Not much of a shade, just small trees. There's wifi for 15pesos an hour.

Report Check-In

Incredible spot to swim, take pictures, and read by the cascadas. The entrance for the waterfalls is 25pp (totally worth it!). We camped 3 nights in the parking lot (a gravel spot surrounded by trees and butterflies dancing around) for 50pp. Quiet at night, we saw fireflies. No shower, you have to use a bucket to flush the toilets. Bring your own paper ;)

Report Check-In

This is where you should camp when visiting the cascades. At roberto barrios you kinda park close to the road and in the middle of town.. this place is wonderful. Safe, clean, and $25pp for swimming and $50pp for camping. There’s a small restaurant open 9am-5pm. Wonderful swimming and beautiful setting! Friendly people. Quiet at night. We camped Friday to Saturday.. there’s a stop in Santa Cruz where you pay $10pp to pass.. fairly official?! We went on to San cristobal and tried continuing the same road but it got too bumpy for our pick-up camper.. we turned around and went back towards palenque and turned on 199. 199 had no roadblocks except for a couple of small villages where kids put rope across the road and want to sell you something.. just drive thru slowly!

Amazing falls. You can swim in and jump into different pools.
Nice camping, friendly people.

Report Check-In

great spot!
was the only one there when I arrived in the evening. The whole morning almost no one at the falls, some people coming and going all afternoon.
camping was M$50+25 for the falls the next day. absolutely worth it. I believe theybsaid I could stay multiple nights for only 50 but my Spanish isn't great.
There's a small restaurant, a little pricey for me so I ate my own food.
a few skinny but very friendly dogs hanging around. Wouldn't hurt to bring a big bag of food for them!
the dirt road to the north was good and about 20 minutes. the road to the West was really bad and took 1.5 hours. would suggest using the highway if you don't like rough roads.

Beautiful campsite right next to the Roberto Barrios waterfalls. We paid 40MP/pp. Huge grassy area, not that many level spots. Basic but clean toilets. They have a small tienda that sells sodas and snacks. The waterfalls and natural pools where amazing. The workers serve as guides too, they will show you the best spots to swim or jump to the water. No telcel reception. Worth the detour. The coordinates for the gravel road: 17.331500,-91.917970

Report Check-In

50 pesos for one adult.. children dont pay
really beautifull waterfalls and this side is really quieter
you can stay at night for free ( just pay the entrance) at the other side but you will be on the dirt road just in front of houses
