Description

This is a Park & Ride parking lot near Yosemite. We did not want to spend 50$ per night for a tent site on the KOA nearby and found this place. There are no signs that overnight parking is prohibited and we had a really calm night. There are rest area style flush toilets. Just right if you're on your way to or from Yosemite.

We stayed one night. We asked the police who was here and they allowed us to stay overnight. Free wifi, picnic table, cleaned toiletd.

Report Check-In

great spot to camp near Yosemite!!! all camping was full inside the park so we headed here. clean bathrooms, playground, tables. there were only 2 other people here and everyone was respectful and quiet. not too much road noise either. would stay here again!

Report Check-In

Community park that is flat, quiet, has cell service and is really close to the park. Decent bathrooms and even a little grill. Other people were sleeping here as well, and there are no signs restricting overnight parking.

Report Check-In

The Yosemite Bus doesn’t run every half hour during the week this time of year apparently. I’m 43’ long and took up 2 parking spaces. A class B is here also. I’ve had several cars come in and out. Bathrooms are open if you need. Quiet this time of year. Please stay out of the bus & firetrucks way so that this stays open to overnight.

Report Check-In

Parking calme la nuit, avec wifi gratuit qui marche bien. Toilettes ouverts toute la nuit. Pour une nuit c'est top.

Report Check-In

Good for a night. Quiet except for some road noise that was not too bad. Bathrooms are currently closed. No potable water available. NOT recommended for RV's or large rigs as the Yarts bus must have the room to loop the parking lot and they come by every half hour from 6 am to 10 pm and I would safely guess if people start blocking them and the fire station access, this will be closed off. We stayed here because all other camping close by was full to the brim. Nice little creek for dipping in.

Report Check-In

We spent the night here on our way out of Yosemite, and was a really nice place to sleep in

Report Check-In

Arrived about 8pm after making dinner down by the river at Briceburg. Left at 7am. No issues and we were the only people there. As previously described, concrete parking lot, decent bathrooms, a small creek. No WiFi. Road from nosie was minimal between 10pm-6am. Last Yarts bus came at about 10pm, and the first one in the morning at 6:25am but only stuck around for a minute each time. Pretty decent for a free spot within an hour of Yosemite.

Report Check-In

Love this spot! Super sweet creek for dipping too ;)

Report Check-In

Personally I think this is an excellent spot: easy to get to, fairly level, by a small creek, near gas and food, near Yosemite, free WiFi, clean restrooms, picnic table and children's playground. What more can you ask for? ;-) Yes it's a parking near a road, but it's not meant for stay & chill.

Report Check-In

Great spot, stayed here three nights while exploring Yosemite. Quite a few people also staying but all very respectful and tidy. Clean toilets and free wifi!

Report Check-In

We stayed there one night in our van.
We arrived a at about 8pm and there was the fire department doing some training on the parking lot. Afterwards we had a chat with some firemen and they told us, that we likely won't have problems staying there, but sometimes a police officer shows up during nighttime. Mostly they let you stay, but if they will send you away you can just park on the side of the road to left the County Park.
Night was really quiet, washrooms where clean and nobody showed up. Would stay there again!

Report Check-In

Very good spot, quiet, clean restrooms and the wifi works perfect! 🌲

Report Check-In

Place was as described. No wifi but had 3 bars Verizon. We were in a rooftop tent and the highway noise was buffered satisfactorily by trees. We were exiting the park and this place was much better than those spots closer to the park, which were all quite side-of-the road. Busses running infrequently in morning in September, wasn't a noise issue for us.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Parking spot for the park and ride to Yosemite Valley. The toilets are really clean. Good to continue your route to the valley.

Report Check-In

Great place for the night. We were three cars during the night. Toilets work and very good wifi signal

Report Check-In

Perfect for a night, as described however both toilets are out of order at the moment. Wifi is a bonus! ☺️

Report Check-In

As described, very convenient and no issues.
Not ideal for big rigs which are longer than 20 ft or 6 metres as there are only 14 normal parking spaces available and otherwise there are not many spaces left for the people who do park and ride in the morning.
Today someone parked his fifth wheel and pickup on one side of the parking space and blocked all 7 spaces...it is a matter of time until overnight camping is no longer allowed !

Report Check-In

Big paved parking lot 40 mins from the entrance of Yosemite. Toilets available with picnic table and free WiFi from the company next door. It is also bus stop so busses will come by occasionally. Had no problems at all staying here 2 nights for free sleeping in the car

Report Check-In

Right off highway 140 going toward Yosemite, this big paved parking lot does the trick! And on top of that, one covered picnic table, a small play area, and new clean washrooms. Very easy to find.

Report Check-In

This place was great! Highly recommended for an overnight. Great bathrooms and the WiFi was a blessing (no AT&T coverage). Keep this one nice, please!

Report Check-In

As described in previous entries. Rest stop style bathrooms with running water. There were a few parking spaces, one van already there when I pulled in around 10pm. No issues throughout the night. When I left around 6am there were cars starting to pull in presumably to catch the bus. No t-mobile service but there is free wifi.

Report Check-In

Slept a night here in my way to Yosemite. Probably the nicest of the 3 spots I slept in the area. Flat, well-lit, and clean bathrooms open all night. Picnic structure with tables + a playground. Even though I only got one bar of Verizon LTE, I was able to have a 1-hour video call with a friend!

Report Check-In

Nice spot for sleep, very quiet. There is a picnic table, a barbecue, toilet and Wifi for free. Very useful. Buses start here a 6:03am but we didn’t heard them.

Report Check-In

Great spot on the way to Yosemite! We had Verizon 4G. There are bathrooms and a garbage can. There’s a playground. A few buses passed through. The town of Mariposa about 10 min south is a good place to pick up any supplies or refill on fuel.

Report Check-In

It's called Midpines County Park on Google Maps. The lights are pretty bright overnight and the buses start rolling thru as early as 6 (maybe earlier) but we stayed here 2 nights with 2 other camper vans and had no problems. Bathrooms were immaculate.

Report Check-In

Felt nice and safe here. Very quiet, only noises are when people arrive to catch the YARTS bus. Toilets are clean, and tap even has got water. Stayed here 2 nights in a row, no problems.

It’s not a beautiful place but it’s usefull.
