Description

ADMIN NOTE: a user reported on 219-12-14: This closure has been lifted
---
Pacific Coast Highway (CA 1) is currently closed due to storm damage between Big Sur State Park (north) and Rugged Point (south), supposedly until at least late summer 2017. No detour other than CA freeway 101 (Salinas-Paso Robles, no other short cuts in between).
The spot here marks as far south as you can get from the north.

Alternate route of G16 (Carmel Valley Road) is a fantastic option!

Latest Check-Ins

Another Alternate route to take is G16 (Carmel Valley Road). It is a very twisty fun road, we took it on June 15 2017 and loved it!

Report Check-In

should add that this won't open any time soon and you can't get to Pfeiffer beach or myway falls from here. $5,000 fine if you try and go down to the beach on foot.
