Nice campsite, lots of butterflies and well maintained and clean. Friendly owner. 100 pesos per person.

Report Check-In

shower, toilet, level place front of the palapa, fireplace, decent wlan, lil jungle and sneaky doggies for 100pp
good good good

Nice place and very well located. If you come from Comitan, don’t be in a rush… it was the WORST road we drove on since we are on Mexico (lots of topes and huuuuge potholes)

We made it to the top spot with our short skoolie, however, the way up here is not wide, some branches were scratching our rig but nothing major.

There is a big land at the bottom where RV could probably park.

Tonina was “ok”, dont’ expect a lot. It’s a way to cut the road from Comitan to Agua Azul but I would not do the detour this come here

Nice and well-maintained property. Stayed 3 nights. Paid MX $200 per vehicle (2p).

Cold showers only. Toilets without TP, seat, or soap. This could be improved! Internet is included in the price but it is slow and unreliable if it rains.

High trees on the property so it might be difficult to get stable service with Starlink.

We also asked the nice lady at the property about eating here and having dinner and breakfast. Very tasty, recommended. Ask in advance as the restaurant may not be open. Paid MX$100 pp for dinner. MX $90 for breakfast.

Report Check-In

Nice place and very friendly owners. 100mxp per person. We drive a 23 ft expedition truck and they parked us on the upper lot by the cabins. We had a quiet night and the next morning we walked to the Tonina ruins.

I one night camping (100pesos)
They have wifi and basic toilets and shower. It is the closest you can get to the ruins! The entrance is just 30 meter farther down the road. They have a small kitchen for the people in the cabanas and camping but quite far down by the restaurant.when I was unpacking I left my luggage on the ground and looking for a spot to put up the tent, I came back to the luggage and found a some toilet paper 🧻 on the ground, not only but my takeaway dinner was gone too. The dog took both out to the other side of the barbed wire fence and enjoyed them… why the toilet paper though?
Dog came back smiling. Really enjoyed my dinner.

Yes this is camping here. I had a good night sleep with the occasional dogs howling orchestra all stars around me. Woke up without breakfast and went to the ruins which were spectacular!
Well worth going to bed without dinner.

I really like this place. Super friendly welcome, the accommodation offers everything you could wish for and it is an oasis of peace. Warmly recommended.

what a gem! dont be afraid to drive the 199, because you gonne miss this place. two sides to choose from (take the upper!), camping in a nice groomed garden among cabanas. fireplace and palapas to chill out, enough shade from trees and palapas. two clean toilette’s and showers. super friendly owners and right next to the ruins which are worth a visit! highly recommend this place!! 100$/pp

Camp site near Tonina Ruins . To Clarify this site is definitely BigvRig Friendly with great access. The site has two fields. The lower field is immediately on the right as you enter the gates . There are no access or height issues to this field. The upper field probably isn't big Rig friendly . I think the bottom field is much nicer. Charged 100 peso per person

Report Check-In

Honest and kind people. Very welcoming
Adolpho, Rosemary and Aymer are a family with good size land that opened they're massive garden to us for a mere 50 pesos per night. Cold showers, toilets, sinks, power and faucets are all available. It's very relaxing and on their ground, there is a view of the pyramids, it's a 15min hike.
Would definitely return if ever back in this region.

Report Check-In

Very nice camping. Walking distance to Tonina. Very friendly host, toilets and showers clean. 100 pesos for Camper and two people. We enyojed two nights 😍.

Report Check-In

Love this place!! One of the most beautiful campsites I've seen in Mexico. Was going to stay one night but stayed two so could go walking in the hills. Really friendly owner. No WiFi but electricity, wood fire cooking grill, shower (not great but fine) and bathrooms. Not the cleanest but definitely not the worst. 50 pesos each per night which was so worth it even just for the view!

Report Check-In

As stated, it is a great spot. We are the only ones here. Nice and quiet.

Report Check-In

A very nice clean place.. I won't give a description, because others have and is accurate. I will say though, the electrical is only 2 prong - has no ground. Telcel and ATT has connection. We are traveling in a Toyota RV.

Report Check-In

As described. A wonderful maintained place to stay longer. The very friendly owner- Abrahm- is so helpful and doing a great job.
There are different patios to calm down in a hammock or chair and having a drink. The surrounding is beautiful, calm and peaceful.
We stayed 2 nights just by ourselves and could stay there for weeks. Paid happy 50Pesos per Person per night. The nearby pyramids are amazing - enjoy the beautiful view from the top!

Report Check-In

A wonderful campground with friendly people. Clean toilets and showers. Electricity and water. What more do you need. For 50 ppppn! I do not know if it is big rig friendly, but our car is 11 feet high and there was no problem. The historic site is georgeous. And we were nearly alone!

Report Check-In

Precioso lugar!!! tranquilo, con buenos equipamientos para estar de camping (hamaca, mesitas, cesped) y un entorno espectacular. Super recomendable. 100$mex por 2 personas. Hay cabañas preciosas también.

Report Check-In

Amazing spot so close to the ruins. Literally just walk out of the front gate and turn right and you are at the entrance. Such a nice relaxing spot to hang out. Hammocks, cold showers, clean toilets. No complaint. Happily paid 100p for the facilities. Very pet friendly, our dog had a great time playing with the resident dog, she was very sweet!

Report Check-In

Quiet place. Asked if we could use the electricity and they allowed us to plug an extension cord into one of the cabana. 👍 still 100p the night.

Report Check-In

We had spent the night for 100 pesos. We went just with our 24 feet, the location around the bungalows is not very dishes. Located a few meters from the entrance to the site where it is not allowed to spend the night. People very friendly.

Report Check-In

Still there, still nice, still 50 ppppn.

Report Check-In

Really lovely spot, very well maintained. Decent toilets and showers. No WiFi. Paid 100p for two people, one night. Just minutes from the ruins.

Report Check-In

They asked for 100 Peso and we paid without discussion. Chiapas is the poorest state of Mexico and we already paid more for worse places in other states. So why the hassle for something that doesn't harm us (and we can easily save money on other things if need be).

We stayed with a 24 ft Unimog.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Nice and quiet place! It was 100pesos for the 2 of us but i got to 70p (maybe it was possible to get down to 50 if my Spanish wasn’t so bad !). Cold shower but great pressure, so it does the job! Anyway, great place for the price and very friendly people !

Report Check-In

nice place. manage to get discount. paid 50p two people. but we said we just need to park and tbat we won't use of facilities. it is quite all day. nice view and great location for the amazing and unknown Mayan ruins

Report Check-In

beautifull campground, perfect if you want a nice quiet night with the jungle surrounded. 100 pesos, toilets and cold showers and walking distance to the ruins, worth the money.

Report Check-In

Great place to stay and see the ruins. You can walk up the dirt road about 15 mins and get a view of the ruins. Or walk down to the main road and turn right to get to Tonina in only a few minutes. Friendly owners. Not a ton of flat space, would be a little tight for multiple overland vehicles. Has a couple of small shade/rain structures to use.

Report Check-In

Good place to overnight to see Tonina. And Tonina is fabulous! The upper parking area is great for a van and worked for our truck camper. But larger rigs would be advised to stay down below. Walk it first to check.
Restaurant decent enough. Bathrooms dirty. Good shade. Very quiet. Paid 100p for two persons. No hookups.

Report Check-In

Nice spot to spend the night in picturesque farmland. As others have said, perfect for visiting the ruins (which were amazing), with basic toilets/showers. Ran into multiple road blocks leaving town towards San Cristobal though. The first was between the ruins and Ocosingo , a few guys had dragged logs across the road and told us we had to pay for "road cleaning", but they let all other traffic through. Repeatedly told them we had no money until they finally let us through, cursing at us. Leaving Ocosingo, towards San Cristobal, there was a large group of people and a long line of cars was stopped going the opposite way. They waved at us to pull over, but nothing was blocking the road out, so we drove through.

Report Check-In

Very nice campground next to Tonina ruins. Toilets, showers, water, resto.

Report Check-In

Awesome boondocking campground! Beautiful landscape and friendly family on site. The ruins at Tonina were also awesome, one of the best we've seen in Mexico.

Report Check-In

Super endroit pas de wifi mais on a pu remplir le réservoir d'eau. Douche TRÈS froide. Site archéologique superbe , à voir! Idéal pour couper la route entre agua azul et san cristobal.de.las.casas

Report Check-In

nice camping next to the cabins for 100 pesos for one vehicle. Besides showers and toilets there are also hammocks and a fireplace at side. The ruins of Tonina are just a short walk from the camp.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot to stay next to the ruins, amidst farm country with horses and cows grazing. They provided us with wood for the outdoor stove & we could be at the ruins early - they open 8am.

Report Check-In

Nice place very close to the ruins. 100 peso per night, decent but simple flush toilets and cold showers. No wifi. Great views over the valley. Restaurant on site.

Report Check-In

Location, location, location. This is steps away from the Tonina ruins. Besides camping there are also cabanas that have their own bathrooms, 400 peso night for two people and there is electricity but I don't know about hot water. We paid 100 peso for camping for 2 people and a dog. The bathrooms are clean but there are no toilet seats and lots of water leaks so it looks a bit out of a horror movie. The property is beautiful, dark at night and very quiet. We give it 3 star for location and what is bringing it down is the toilets but hey they don't smell.

Superb little camp site in English countryside
