A great stop for cycle tourers!

As per other comments: the final house on the right at the end of the lane. Noone was at home when I arrived so I asked next door and Travis (whitewater guy) managed to find Chichu (owner) who was happy to have me stay.

He let me pitch the tent under the big outdoor shelter for some shade & rain cover (both needed!).

Clean shower & toilet, plus electricity to charge phones etc.

He charged me 3000c for 1 night - great price.

Report Check-In

The camping is not at raft company anymore but just outside their new facility at their previous site. A guy named Chichu allows you to camp in his yard. He has very limited English however. The nicest guy on the planet! Very accommodating. Bathrooms and shower available as well as power outlets near bathrooms.

Report Check-In

The friendly owner is an older guy nicknamed Chicho. It is his house and you can pitch your tent or park your van in his garden. There is a simple bathroom with a cold shower and potable water. A little roof where you can sit while it rains. We paid 5 dollar pppn.

We did rafting with the neighbouring Selva White Water. They are fun and professional. Really nice to do the Sarapiqui river (both the upper class III/IV part and the lower class II/III part).

Doesn't look like a camping but you camp at the owner at the end of the road his garden. Around the corner is Selva white water. My girlfriend and I did a canoeing trip with Tiki( we got so much information that in the next tours we took we knew most of it already! So we are very great full about it. We asked if we could take an easy route because of the lack of experience and this was no problem they have a route for all kind of experiences.

This is an amazing camping area with all the good things of Costa Rica. In the middle of the nature, along the river, including your own swimming adventure. The shower and bathroom are clean and fine. There is space enough for more 4*4 and small shelter to stay dry when it rains.
There are A lot of activities in the area like rafting with the owner and a national park on 15 minutes walking distance. During the day and night we had nice birds and frogs in the area. Check in here with the owners who are very helpful and relaxed. Pura vida

I want to update the information. The coast were 5000Q ppn. WiFi does not exist.

Report Check-In

The people who used to run this site have built a new property round the back, so it is now run by a local family. Parking & camping is in the garden, with toilet and cold shower to use. No English spoken, and No wifi (as far as I know) Nice peaceful spot with lots of bird life, and close to the river.

Report Check-In

Friendly man lets overlanders camp in front of his house. He has a separate toilet and shower for us to use. And second house that he occasionally rents out but we have use of the kitchen - stove, sink, etc. And it's less than a minute walk to river swimming hole - lots of people when we were there because of semana santa but everyone very friendly and in a celebratory mood!

Report Check-In

---SIDE NOTE: This does not appear to be a campsite on first glance. It is the last house on the road, before the river. The host/owner came out to greet us because we drove in very late. I would suggest knocking on the door if he is not outside. It defiantly is a campsite.

Host was very nice, only spoke Spanish, however we were able to communicate enough with him to stay for $5 a night (we are English speaking). We were in a campervan and had place to park. He has a shower and bathroom attached to his garage specifically for campers use. Plenty of food/groceries in town. Really cool place to stay.

Report Check-In

Confirming slidy007‘s report with the additional remark that electricity was available (for our electric fridge) by extension cord

Report Check-In

We went to this coordinates and searched for the place. We look for signs or so, but couldnt find anything. Just a house with a big grassy field that says "se vende". So we left. Curiously we had wrote the owner an email about camping and he said that its no problem and we should just come by. So I guess the place is still open but we just couldnt find it.

Report Check-In

Nice place to camp, we paid 5000 colones. Clean shower and toilet, nice owners. The rafting company was closed when we were there, the US owner has not been there since March.

Great place! Very helpful owner. Lots of tucans and great jumping and swimming in the rio! 5$ US per per person per night.

Report Check-In

Perfect place by the river to river raft. The business owner does river rafting which has better equipment than the others. Definetly worth it. Recommend! Fenced in area to park and camp. Sharp turn into camping area. Not suitable for big rigs. There is a kitchen and bathroom with clean cold shower. Very muddy in wet season. Also a terrace area to sit with wifi. There is a dog on the premises. $5 per person/night.
