Beautiful and friendly community campsite at the Luangwa River. Clean ablutions, friendly and helpful staff. The scenery is magical. Hippos, crocs, fish eagle and kingfisher at your doorstep. And the pontoon crossing to North Luangwa is fun (and included in the park fees).
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Beautiful community initiative.
Doesn’t feel like a building site anymore, they are still completing two more safari tents but its super chilled.
We paid 150kwacha pppn for camping.
Firewood supplied free of cost
We didnt see any bins so took our rubbish with us.
Friendly locals, beautiful river side view, an elephant walked by the camp and loads of hippos around. Nice outdoor shower with cold water (indoor shower available) and flush toilets.
The camp is still partly under construction with a few villagers working around but very peaceful. We camped in front of a tented chalet facing the river, using its ablution, shared with other campers. hippo and elefant in the camp in the evening, lion roaring on the other shore during the night. 150kw pppn probably because still unfinished...
