Rest area in the forest (gravel road to reach the site) very quiet with tables. You are in the middle of nowhere, it's a perfect site.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Nice quiet spot with picnic tables, as other mentioned 3.5km of gravel road to get there, we made it just fine with our 23ft skoolie. There’s also hiking trails to falls. The Big falls was closed, we believe due to the hurricane, it caused lots of damage but the little fall (1km hike) is open and beautiful.
Report Check-InBecause of the snow, this was the only place nearby where it was possible to stay. The gate was closed, but we parked at the end of the road. Perfectly fine for a night.
Report Check-InWonderful Provincial picnic park with many private drive-thru spots, each with a picnic table. I chose the last large area where a few people can picnic together. There is a gate, but locals, who were salmon fishing, said the gate is never locked. I stayed overnight. It was awesome. Could hike to the river and the falls.
Report Check-InNice quiet place at the end of a long gravel road. The gate to the picnic area was closed because we were off season. It is also the location of the North River Falls Trailhead.
Report Check-InFence at end of dirt road was closed. Note saying close due to hurricane (which had recently gone through Maritimes) and would be reopened the day before we got there. We camped in parking area near fence as too dark to get back out to road at this point. The road passes several cottages on way in but the ones closest to the end of the road were closed up for the season. In the morning a vehicle came in and out and when we got up the fence had been opened. We explored it, nice area, near a river with pit toilets. Signs say no campfires. A couple of hikes start here, signs in sharpie to let you know distance and time of the trails on a bulletin board.
Report Check-InNice little hidden place. It gets really quiet and dark at night. There's a long and a short trail. A couple of anglers were there when we arrived, but they left around 7pm. Sunday morning was very busy with anglers, but we didn't get bothered.
It is worth the drive down the gravel road.
The end of the road was closed, couldn't get to the nice picnic area at the end. Maybe I was too early for this season.
Report Check-InGorgeous place right off the Cabot trail. Secluded and away from traffic. We were the only ones here for the night but people come to fish and hike the area.
Report Check-InWe were absolutely alone there! Very nice and quiet spot. Don‘t forget to bring bug repellent, though!
Report Check-InNorth River Picnic Park.
closed in the low season. but there is a small parking lot in front of the gate for 2-3 car's. I spend here one night in my van- perfect. thanks
