We didn't sleep here because it was still full of garbage. So we followed the road a little further up, where we found a nice spot right on the beach. But around 8 p.m. (as always in the dark) the police came by and told us that it wasn't safe here. They kindly asked us to come closer to their police office so that they could protect us. We ended up staying at the beach car park (-25.1062269, 33.7675765) of one of the lodges that had suffered from the Covid-19 crisis and was closed at the time of our stay.
Report Check-InNice if not for the condoms everywhere. Fishermen walking past. We found it too busy and went back the way we came, which is further north, on a track that you need to deflate tires for.
Report Check-InClose to the main track along the beach.
many places to wild camp.
people around, very friendly and welcoming
close to an old abandoned resort.
the main track can be driven with a 2wd.
the one closer to the beach require a 4wd
windy at night in August
and too cool to go and swim.
Rad spot. You can access it from the road on the N1 just south of Chongoene 4x4 low range and soft tires or light motorcycle will make it. XhiXhi side is easy, a little light sand any vehicle.
Report Check-InSuper spot for an over night. choice of under a tree tucked away, or 100 meters closer to the town side is an entrance to the beach. Sand quite soft and i wouldn't attempt this wild camoibg spot without 4 x4.
Last 1km road not in great shape.
Big rig... I did it in a bakkie/UTE with a roof top tent and i was just just ok with tree clearance ie 2.3m high.
Sunrise to die for and a perfectly still ocean with an accompanying cool breeze made for an awesome evening.
Report Check-InGreat spot right by the beach and away from town. Easy to get to, no deep sand, no need for 4WD or high clearance, some locals have driven past in small cars. Quiet road, but the site is right beside it. Vodacom 3G on the beach
Report Check-InXai Xai typical African town very busy and here we reached 42 Degrees Celsius
On the main road GPS shown a small route to coast of 10 kilometres.
Just meters before the beach there was an old abandoned building
Here we got plenty Moz people with mussels selling a 5 kilos bag for R50.00
Down the very loose sand let tyres down 4x4 diff lock to crabs beach.
The wild camp is close to the sea, and under the pine trees and very close to main road.
We met up with Daniel +258845669539 a local fisherman with some fish and crayfish.
The fish we bought was =/- 1.5 kg for R68.00 and then he offered to clean it we gave him another R23.00 and also some wood for R12.00.
Star gazing till past 21h00 saw 8 satelites passing by. Milky-way was clear.
