The whole road 3SM is paved and in excellent condition so you can drive from Huancayo until Huanta completely on sealed road which is especially in the beginning and in the end very scenic as well.
Report Check-InWould like to add that PE-3SM is a good alternative to the PE-3S. It's a higher road so more chance of rain but the pavement is in much much better condition than the PE-3S which is riddled with potholes and damaged areas.
