Beautiful spot by the Charyn River. The drive down the canyon is pretty scenic, but not for big rigs or low clearance vehicles. Flat spot for a couple of vehicles, very green and some shade and a pit toilet.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
You can drive all the way down to the river, very beautiful. However, there is a (new) sign saying camping is prohibited. Swimming is also forbidden, most likely because the current is quite strong.
Report Check-InStill possible to drive down to the river. We did not stayed the night there due to rain. Possible with our 4t 4x4 camper.
Report Check-InRide down the canyon is awesome (use 4x4). We just visited, did not camp here. At the river a guy who pretended to be a ranger (did show Russian ID card) came by and showed some papers with Russian text and something like 745Tenge. He wanted me to pay for being in the canyon as far as I understood. He wanted to see a receipt of the main entrance or I should pay him here. We left without paying since we think this part is free. He was okay with it so maybe this was not officially required?
Report Check-InSpectacular ride down the canyon. Very quiet, we were alone.
Report Check-InVery nice spot, beautiful and quiet. one of our best camping spots so far.
