Beautiful location and great campsite. The watering hole is quite far away from the campsite, but there is a raised viewing platform.
We were asked for $20pppn - tried to negotiate but no luck.
There were some guests at the lodge so we were told we could not use the lodge area or game viewing lodge.
Not worth the money for us so we went up the road to Gwango, which is beautiful and $10pppn

Report Check-In

Wonderful Location close to waterhole. Amazing view and in natural Environment. Hot Showers, Power and drinking water. Nice and friendly staff, wifi available at nearby lodge 150m. We observed large groups of elephants so close, also many Kudus. Gamedrives possible. We recommend this place close to Hwange NP, fair Price for what you get!

Report Check-In

Stunning little and clean campsite, good ablutions with hot water, firewood provided in a wonderful natural environment, so close to large waterhole. From the hide we could observe dozens and one day more than hundred Elefants very close by (5 m), a fantastic experience. Very helpful staff. power provided. Internet on vouchers at the Lodge 200m further. We stayed 3 nights and saw also Kudus, Impalas, waterbucks. We highly recommend this place and stayed another night again on our way south.

Loving this place already, rules for using the lodge are simple: only when there are no (paying) guests. Very friendly and good firewood too keep a nice fire lit.

Report Check-In

It costs now 20 USD/pppn. So they doubled the price in May... At least small childs are free. According to the manager you can always find new prizes on their facebook page.

Despite the high prize we liked the camp. They allowed us to go to the hide of the lodge near the waterhole. We never been so close to elephants!

Report Check-In

We stayed one night and liked the location of this small campsite having a view onto the waterhole. Actually there are only 2 spacious campsites each having a braai stand and a fire place. In between you find the thatched shelter with power plugs, wooden tables and chairs. Ablutions as described earlier. We found it rather strange that the staff uses the same showers and toilets as the guests. We paid 10$ pppn.

Report Check-In

Great campsite, great facilities, nice view over the waterhole. Internet with Econet very unstable but works well when on top of the wildlife viewing platform. We paid 10 USD ppn but it can go up to 20 USD ppn in high season.

Report Check-In

Spent 2 nights here. We paid $10/pppn. Hot water all the time. Nice showers with good pressure. Ablutions ok. Area is not flat so a bit hard to find a good spot for a RTT. The owner gave us a permission to use the hide and pool. Usually campers can’t use the lodge facilities and the gate is locked. Other staff very friendly. Staff will light you a fire and braai every evening, wood is included. There were many elephants at the hide (came close, but they were relaxed). Owner seemed like a nice guy.

Report Check-In

Very nice campground beside the lodge. Very helpful staff. Heating the donkey and make as a fire when is began dark.
There is also a viewing platform to have a better view to the waterhole in front. We saw a lots of elephants and buffaloes. Spent 2 relaxing days there. Maybe at this time of the year you see more animals here at in the park.

Report Check-In

Just outside Hwange this campsite is ideally located to visit the park (and much cheaper than inside) . Great view of the water hole from the campsite. Showers were warm (donkey) and free wood was provided for our fire. The campsite is designed for big groups so we felt a bit out of place with just our rooftop tent on this big sandy space.

Report Check-In

We had a very warm welcome from Joel the manager. The location with the waterhole is beatyful and there are a lot of elephants around. On our last afternoon we saw a lot of elephants together with a big herd of bufalos. We paid 10 USD ppn (maybe because of covid) and stayed 3 nights instead of only 1. The lodge was not fully booked and we could use the Pool and had a nice dinner in the restaurant. Also the staff are very friendly and helpful and fixed our tyred. We will definitily come back.

Report Check-In

Nice campsite, waterhole, staff very friendly. 10$ ppn 50% for childrens under 12

Report Check-In

Nice Campsite with good hot showers.
Good view at the waterhole, we did see some zebras impalas and elefants at sunset.
they also prepared a campfire.
They ask $20 pp but after we said we would drive to maincamp the manger agreed with $15pp

Strange vibes in this place. The manager was rather rude when we checked in We said we wanted to pay with credit card unless he could offer us a better deal with cash. We already knew the price was 15 USD. He then wanted to charge us 4 dollars more because of the card payment and said 15 US was the cash price. We said we'd leave again and he then changed his mind. The campsite felt more like staff quarters. The herd of buffaloes in the morning was great though.

If you happen to be here and there is a group booked in the lodge, you are urged to stay out of the lodge area. So with me today. Also no meal. However it seems to be ok to use the pool once they are off for their game drive. Nice waterhole!

Camping is now 15 US$ p.P. We asked for Dinner, but as they charge 35 US$ p.P. we decided to skip it.
Our personal impression is, they allow you to camp but you are not welcome in the lodge area.
For WiFi they want you to pay 10 US$ for 100MB.

Everything as said before! Worth every cent! Overland trucks come here which makes it very busy at the small campsite. When we were there two of them stayed overnight which is too much for the small site. Stuff very friendly.

Report Check-In

We paid $15 pppn. Only allowed to use the pool as there were no guest at the lodge, which is crazy considering the price. The campsite however, is very nice, good ablutions, with hot water. Braai stand, washing up and power available. But what makes it worth the price is the waterhole and hide. We saw two groups of hundred plus elephants come through and at the hide you get very close. Worth every cent for that!

This is definitely the place to stay. The campground is good, but the waterhole and it’s visitors are an absolute highlight. Our first morning we started driving out of camp to head toward Hwange, and less than .5 km down the road from camp, we witnessed well over 100 elephants crossing the road on their way to the waterhole. So we turned around and went back, and had the most magical Christmas Day watching approx. 200 elephants play in the water like kids and dig up dirt right in front of our noses, thanks to the strategic placement of the hide. We were a little annoyed that the pool is for lodge guests only and not for campers, but the fire for our braai was prepared for us by Daniel and we don‘t have any complaints. We heard the restaurant was good, but they don‘t always have enough supply, so let them know in advance if you would like to eat there. I definitely recommend!!

Nice campsite with platform to overlook the waterhole! Very good and wel maintained ablutions thanks to Daniel! We were allowed to sit at the hide at the lodge (Ivory) and had christmasdinner at the lodge thanks to Jo the manager! The first day we saw different groups of elephants up to 30 each trough the day. The second day the elephants started to arrive at 11 am and they kept coming from all directions, 150 to 200 elephants stayed at the waterhole the rest of that day. That evening at 22u we herd elepahants being attact bij lions, the sound was very exiting! The next morning we herd that the killing of a jong elephant by the lions was no succes, the big bulls protected the jongest and chased the lions away! The last day plenty elephant cam to the waterhole to drink on and off! Still 15$ppn, all werth the money for us!

Report Check-In

Fabulous waterhole! However, you must have enough time to be patient. We saw elephants up close, really close. Buffalo, gorgeous kudu bulls and much more. We spent 2 nights and didn’t go anywhere just enjoyed visiting the blind and climbing up the platform at different times of the day. We had no worries walking back from blind after dark (camp has no fence.) Nice hot showers at about 4:30pm. Still $15pppn.

Report Check-In

Lovely, friendly staff greeted us on arrival, and a fire was lit at our chosen camping pitch. All well-maintained and clean on the whole, with good showers heated by the donkey. A communal washing up sink provided. Also an under cover dining area with electricity points (handy since the rain didn’t stop during our visit!). There is a hide overlooking a waterhole, where we are told elephants visit, although all we saw was a giraffe and an impala.
Mechanic and workshop on site with lovely helpful people who helped change our flat tyre without us even asking!
Only downside is that it was difficult to find a flat area to pitch our roof tent. Also, not the cheapest camp around at US$15 pppn.

Report Check-In

Nice well run campsite and lodge, $15 pppn, nice clean ablutions with hot water, electricity in central covered area, good wifi but extra $20 for 100mb. Overlooking waterhole, lots of visitors to waterhole, braii areas available, friendly staff

Report Check-In

Very nice lodge and Campsite. Friendly staff, firewood incl. WiFi very expensive. Were here in october and february, lots elephants

Report Check-In

1st day stuff was friendly. 2nd day they did not ask for firewood, shower was cold. Hard to find a plane spot for our big truck. 15 USD pppn.

Report Check-In

Private concession. Sandy place with a few trees next to lodge. View over waterhole. The first day a group of some 80 elephants came drinking, bathing in the waterhole and taking salt in from a sandhole that is a few meters from a hide at the campground. The second day a couple of giraffes came drinking.
USD 15 per person. Internet use is USD 10 per 100 MB. Firewood and daily lighting of fires is included in the rate.

Sandy campsite on private gamepark concession next to waterhole with drinking elephants. Wifi costs USD 10 for the duration of stay and is slow. Staff is unfriendly and sets inconsistent rules for things like allowed places to camp and seats in the bar. Ablutions are insufficient for the number of camping guests.

Nice camp & lodge, with game viewing platform and waterhole. Lots of elephants and a Painted Dog chased an Impala through the camp!
