Description

Busy campsite near ferry, mostly people staying in pre-setup tents, very noisy at 5.00am! Can be long queues for toilets and showers as tents are not ensuite. Cold showers and flush toilets, didn't use bar or restaurant. $8 pppn and you park in the car park, not great.

campsite 8$/pppn
dinner : 24000 Ugx/main course (good)

Report Check-In

We had a great time, yes noisy early morning as poeple leave for game drives. We camped on the right side of restaurant with a view on the Nile. 3 showers at ladies were clean but cold. Fees 8$pppn Beware of Hippo's roaming the camp at night.

Report Check-In

Nice location in the park. Quite busy with overlanding tours and the space for vehicles with RTT is quite small. No WiFi. No electricity available at the sites. Solar showers but with the number of people it’s cold showers. Baboons are a bit of a menace. $10 pppn.

Report Check-In

One of the few places to camp in MFNP. We paid 8$ pppn and stayed with rtt. Staff was not that friendly but if you don't need anything special it's fine. Showers were clean and you can also eat there but the food wasn't good. Keep in mind that it's very crowded there!

Report Check-In

Positives: great location, nice views north towards Nile, very good restaurant!! The nain meals are very good and not bad value for money.
Negatives: Very very busy, so can be noisy. Ablutions are iffy - I saw only 2 showers for a LOT of guys - the loos were serviced but owing to traffic, cleanliness is questionable.
I would stay again as only budget option, but I was happy to leave and have a nice hot shower elsewhere...

Report Check-In

Great rustic camp with bandas, see you tents and grassy camping facility. No hot water but with the current heat a welcome.
Restaurant & bar well stocked, great meals. Lovely fire pit to gather and meet fellow travellers. Watch out for the park fees, if traveling in your own vehicle you do boat ride with Wild Frontiers, it cost us 249$ for a 24hr permit to get us into the Nat Park.

Report Check-In

We liked this campsite and would stay again and recommend, however not the most exciting or adventurous. It is clean and simple and cheap. It is right on the main road, traffic isn’t bad but it felt slightly motel-ly for this reason. Can agree that you are camped just beyond the car park, albeit a fantastic sunrise from a rooftop tent and a lovely view over the park. Good showers and toilets, but cold (not a bad thing in the African heat!) incredibly close to the northern plains of murchison where we saw loads of wildlife within minutes. Roads north of the bridge are still under construction but it didn’t hinder progress while we were there.

Report Check-In

We were the only ones camping (rooftoptents). Camping can be done next to the ablution. Really in the morning two hippo's grazing in front of our tents.
Price is USD 8. Children above the age of 5 post full price. That's everywhere in the UWA parks.

Bridge is ready and no toll (yet). The Chinese are still working on their new silk road.
Boat cruise nice but not worth the USD 30.
You can drive at night or early in the morning. No restrictions. That's why everybody wakes up at 5 in the morning.

There is no longer a ferry, cross the bridge, gps might get confused. Manager Roy very helpful and informative. Cold showers, flush toilet, good food book in advance, veg lasagne 14k ugx, nice log fire in bar area, relatively busy but quite. Camping car on the lawn. I enjoyed it. Easy drive 45 minutes to top of falls, easy drive back towards airport, 20 mins where all the tracks and animals are Queens track, Victoria track etc. Also did the boat trip to the falls $32, expensive but saw quite a few animals. Park entrance $50 for foreign car😭, $40 per person for 24 hrs. Its rushed but just managed to do it all in 1 day except for walk to the top of the falls $15

Report Check-In

Great manager, good food, good value for money

Report Check-In

Very nice place, the bar and food is good, we parked in the garden. Beware of monkeys steeling your food when preparing breakfast. The bridge is ready, no ferry any more…the street works are continuing. From here you can start your game drive to the the northwest area. Very beautiful, you get to see many herds around delta point. Don’t take the trail very close to the water, the bush is top think, you will see nothing.

Really enjoyed a couple of nights here. Stayed in safari tent which had twin beds for $35 per night. Camping is $8 per night. It was quite busy but personally I really enjoyed that after months of very quiet sites during Covid! Nice bar and restaurant with communal fire area in the evening. Braai facilities for cooking - bring your own wood. New manager is making lots of little improvements and really cares for the staff and clients.

Report Check-In

We parked with the truck in the parking lot.
We loved the camp but probably not really crowded here because of the Covid. You can fill water from a water tap. Good MTN signal. 8$ pppn.

Report Check-In

After reading bad reviews, I think owner is attempting to make the place much nicer and we had a good experience here. It was still quite busy with people staying in the tents even during COVID, so during normal year might be packed. No other overlanders during our visit though and no line for showers/toilets. Parking for overlanders in grassy area overlooking Nile, although must first pass over broken rocks and small ditch to get there (hopefully this will be fixed but not sure if that is in the works or not.)

Food is very good at restaurant. Little pricey, but not too bad. Price expected for being inside park, plates for ~ 14k-21k.
Camping 8USD pppn.

3 showers and 3 toilet stalls available for campers. Cold showers, good pressure, but personally I think cold feels nice after long, hot days.

Anyway, decent option if you want to sleep in the park. Otherwise plenty of really nice places outside.

Report Check-In

This place is in the park which means you have to pay the park fees for the day if you want to stay here. There are quite a few campsites just outside the park. We stayed at the Murchison Treehouse and Lodge instead. Parkfees were $40 pp and $50 for a foreign car.

Report Check-In

Only one more uneven place for a truckcamper without shadow in front of the restaurant. The ablutions needing a renovation. The bar and restaurant are ok with view to the Nile. The staff are a littlebit desinterested and unorganized. To book a tour was a problem. They can't tell us if the tour at 4 PM would start.

Report Check-In

7$ pppn for camping with your own tent or car. The car is not allowed on the grass and the parking lot can become very busy so that is not great. Restaurant is very good and cheap. Ablutions are good, though no hot showers. Warthogs roam the camp at night so watch your food!

Nice campsite inside the national park.

Really cool website and place. Close to the park. Bathrooms are a bit old but workable.
