We were happy to find this quiet free camp spot. It's next to a little travelled gravel road, on a flat grassy area, at the entrance of the forestal institute. There is a guard at the gate of the institute, which made us feel safe, who told is there was no problem camping here. It's in a green area, good for one night passing through. No facilities but free, which is great for Costa Rica

Easy accessible place and the Security guard was very friendly. Had a quiet night here
Report Check-InWhen coming from the very hot pacific coast it was a pleasure to sleep in the fresh breeze.
Security was very friendly and allowed to stay close to the gate on a grassy area.
Perfect for stopover!
Report Check-InIt is like in the discriptions bevor. Quiet place right beside the guard. We ask him and he says that it would be OK. It is this smal gras place. Happy to found this.
Report Check-InStill a good place to stop of while travelling through. There is a great view of the lake and dam just before this point too. Still got 24hr security who were happy for us to park up. Very quiet road, even on Saturday night.
