All the other parking lots nearby are "no overnight parking" but no indication in the Costco Parking and the Home Depot. The second one was a small parking lot and we didn't try, but we passed a night behind Costco, looks like the employees parking. We were in a back corner with a few trees and had no problems. you might be able to slip into Costco and use there washrooms when there open.
Behind the trees there is a garbage dumper. we saw few people going through them during the night.

Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
The security guard that chased us and others out of the nearby Walmart was the one that told us about Costco. There were several other RVs there when we arrived after the store had closed. Some noise from trucks at the loading docks about 100 metres away, but no worse than traffic noise at a Walmart.
Report Check-InWe arrived around 18.00 and there were no other rv's parked at all, so we asked inside just to be sure and they said we were more then welcome to stay the night and could park where ever we wanted as long as we leave before 9am. We still parked in the back just to be out of everybody's way.
Report Check-InStayed two nights here, had other vans/rvs parked around as well so definitely felt safe. Would recommend this over some other parking spots around Nanaimo that we checked out, this was the best option.
Report Check-InOvernight parking is still allowed here as of September 17, 2022 when I stayed overnight here again. Overnight road construction on the highway is almost complete. It was pretty quiet when I stayed here on the 17th. Costco is a great place to stay the night.
Report Check-InStayed a night. Quite. No issues. Seemed like there were several other people camped out. A security guard at Walmart even told us to come here sayin “ no one will bother you”
Report Check-InCostco appears to allow overnight parking at their Nanaimo location. I have had no problems parking here overnight. One morning I woke up and counted 14 RVs parking here overnight. It can be a tad bit noisy because of the highway, which runs right beside Costco. And right now (August 7, 2022) the highway department is doing road construction between 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM along the highway beside Costco, so it's extremely noisy. See my profile for other, better overnight free camping/parking locations in Nanaimo.
Report Check-InVery big parking lot, employees saw us staying there and had no problems or issues.
Report Check-Inhad no issues parking overnight there. just stay far from the entrance. Walmart is Not allowed (signs are saying so)
Report Check-InParked overnight for two nights, no issues. Nowhere else in this area allows overnights, don't use Walmart, Superstore, or Home Depot. Costco is a bit noisy, there's trailers and workers moving around all night.
Report Check-InJust another parking lot but been crashing here off and on for the past 3 months. Lot fills up pretty quickly in the morning. Some traffic noise but not to bad.
Report Check-InSecurity at a nearby Walmart sent me here when I tried to stay overnight there. it's just a parking lot, but if you need a place to just sleep as I did, then this works.
Report Check-InStayed one night in the back corner. Quiet. One other van stopped (arrived after and left before us). No problems.
Report Check-InWe were kicked out of the Walmart parking lot at 11:30pm so came here. Parked behind Costco and were not bothered. Had an early ferry crossing so great place for a 1 night stay! The pic is the view from our kitchen window lol
Report Check-InStayed one night. No troubles. We stayed at the back corner near the Salvos Thrift store. A few people walking past on the thrift store side and someone was digging through their bin in the early evening.
Workers are parked in the Costco parking in the evening as well.
ok to sleep overnight. we asked one of the employees. however, no toilet opened overnight.
Report Check-InNo problem here behind the store! Talk with the security and he tells me its allow but not along the building!
Report Check-InStayed here for one night. Arrived around 130am to 4 vehicles staying the night on the west side. Parking lot was completely full the next morning so recommend staying on the outer edges to allow customer parking. Quiet, no issues.
Report Check-Inwell lighted parking lot and an RV and a van parked with us as some cars that park there at night
actually really quiet with lots of space
Good, safe place for overnight parking. I’d recommend parking in the lot away from the front doors and not too close to the loading trucks since they load all night.
Report Check-InWe arrived; no signage to discourage overnight parking. 2 employees greeted us, directed us to the parking behind the building, and told us we were welcome to stay the night as long as we didn’t plug in.
Report Check-InAll the parking around are "no overnigth parking" but no indication in the Costco Parking and the Home Depot. The second one was a small parking and we didn't try, but we passed a night behind Costco, looks like the employees parking. We were juste in a corner where are few trees. No problem.
Behind the trees there is a garbage that look to be used for dumper, so we saw few people getting there during the night.
