Macondo is permanently closed. But now Lady’s house is working just a house ahead.

This place is permanently closed.

Black sheep hostel is no longer allowing overlanders to park on front of their street

Report Check-In

We checked up the neighborhood and felt safe on this street. It is very quiet and there is 24hs surveillance. Stayed two nights.

Report Check-In

Batis told me by WhatsApp, that the guest house is permanently closed. But it's possible to stay with a motorhome in the hostel Black Sheep, which is in front of what was Macondo.

Report Check-In

Hostel is just 40m around the corner from this spot. Right across Black Sheep Hostel and Art City Hostel. Look for the grey house with the yellow butterflies. They now have a sign as well - you can’t miss it!
Orherwise everything as described below.
We paid $30.000 per night for 2 people sleeping in our van in the driveway. Very safe neighborhood - vigilante has it’s „base“ right across the street. Hostel is super clean and the owner Batis is the just the best. Super friendly and super relaxed vibe. Wanted to stay 2-3 nights, ended up staying for over 2 weeks - I guess that says it all :)

Great place for rigs. The parking isn’t secure, but it’s on a quiet street and there is a guard that usually sits across the street and sometimes makes rounds on his bicycle, so the neighborhood felt safe. The owner, Batis, is an absolute legend. Super friendly, accommodating, as loving as any grandma, and full of good info. Hostel is very clean, good WiFi almost reaches the parking lot. Great location. It’s not marked well on maps.me or on here and they don’t have a sign with their name, but just look for a grey building with yellow butterflies on street 5a, check the photos. Directly across from Art City hostel. Call beforehand to make sure they have space.

Macondo is an incredible place to stay at in Medellin, the staff is amazing and her owner Batis is extremely helpfull and interesting for chating about all things. Installations are super clean, hot water showers, coffee included in the morning, and near to almost every market, coffee bar, clubs, you might visit. I thought of staying 3 days at Medellin but i’ve been 7 days already and counting. Neighborhood is pretty and secure to sleep outside in one of both parkings it have for campervans. Definitively i’ll come back again once i come back from Cartagena. 20.000 cop per night for one person and 30.000 cop per night for couples.

Report Check-In

Great spot to stay with campervan. Only 15k pp/pn. Closed from restaurants and bars of Poblado (took uber/taxi late night), metro station 10min by foot, huge Exito not far. Highly recommended.

We loved it here!! $15,000 COP per person per night. Friendly and attentive owner and staff. Great WiFi, desktop, kitchen. Very clean toilets and showers. Less than 10 minute walk from the Poblado Metro Station. Restaurants and night life nearby. And safe neighborhood! We were going to stay 4 nights and ended up staying for 7. They offer laundry services as well! You can park up front and be comfy; if you have a motorcycle, they will let you store it INSIDE the house. We could not have asked for more from Batis, Ana, and Sonia (you really need to try her quesillo dessert!). Highly recommended and it made for a perfect stay in Medellin.

Report Check-In

Very nice hostel with a super friendly owner! It‘s clean and the facilities are good. The location of the hostel is perfect in Medellin.

Take care! We got robbed 2 minutes away from the hostel, when we came back from a bar in Poblado. 2 days later it happend to two other guys again. So, walk in a bigger group or take a taxi!

Report Check-In

Excellent place to stay in your car in the center of Medellin and get access to the facilities of the hostal (kitchen, bathroom, hot showers (all very clean), fast internet, lounge area with TV and small garden with hammocks)
The owner is a super sweet, very caring and helpful lady that speaks a bit of English as well because she lived for a while in Europe.
Price is still P 30‘000 for a car with 2 persons.
The parking in front of the house is not leveled, you probably need levels to be comfortable... also if the rig is longer than 6,5 meters (21ft) you‘ll be partly on the street which I wouldn’t like even there’s not much and only slow traffic going through.

Very good place to stay a few days in Medellin. We parked our van in front of the hostel, on the little parking and we could use the kitchen, showers, toilets, common areas for 30000cop/day for 2 people. Batistina is a very welcoming, nice and interesting woman, she makes you feel like at home. We recommend this hostel.

Report Check-In

You park your car in front of the hostel in the street (yes, it's uneven!). It's hard to find a cleaner hostel in Colombia. Wow!
For us it was the perfect place to stay in Medellin.

Report Check-In

We're in a 4runner with roof top tent, that said the place wasn't good for us to camp, so stayed on a dorm.
Driveway is on a slope so you'll be very crooked, only space for 2 regular size vans. The hostel is pretty new, so everything inside is pretty new. The owner is a very charismatic person but new to running a hostel, so there where quite a few things that could have been done much better. I can't give a bad review because we had a good time there(we're not picky) but other overlanders that stayed at the same time as us didn't enjoyed their stay at all (they own a hotel).
So come here, have a nice time (good thing for us is that is NOT a party hostel), and judge it for yourself.

Report Check-In

We couldn’t actually find this hostel, as there were no signs. Also couldn’t find anything in the area that looked like camping. We ended up parking at Art City Hostel which was clearly labeled and had parking; it was mediocre.

Report Check-In

Very welcoming! Nice kitchen, good facilities and the WiFi is great. But the best: awesome staff! Parked and slept in my car in the driveway and used all facilities!

Supplement:

First they said 15000 a night, it’s half of price cause I was staying alone.

When I left I had to pay more, so it was 25000 in total. I don’t like situation like this. But probably business as usual there...

Report Check-In

The best place for overlanders in Medillin.

Report Check-In

Parking in the driveway just off the street for two standard vehicles or you can sleep in your vehicle in the street for a night with access to the hostal. Excellent facilities, very friendly staff. A safe, relaxing option.

Report Check-In

This is probably the best place for overlanders to stay in Medellín! Batistina is the best host anyone can ask for. She is super attentive and extremely helpful, she will do everything to make you feel as welcomed and accommodated as possible! She loves to receive overlanders! You will have the opportunity to have the rare pleasure of a very hot shower in really nice bathrooms, (each shower has a separate and individual water heater, so really hot water). But the main feature of this place, which you will have the opportunity to easily check out as soon as you enter, is that it is extremely clean and organized! It has nice places to hang out (TV with Netflix, outside area), and a nice equipped Kitchen. And all the staff is super friendly. It is at a great location (popular El Poblado), the street is very quiet so perfect to sleep in the car, and it is close to metro, supermarkets, restaurants. We had a wonderful time here! We were even allowed to bring our dog inside..

Report Check-In

Nice, clean, hot shower, potable water, good location and friendly staff. Would stay here again. Driveway has only room for only two vehicles.

Report Check-In

Hostel with parking for two rigs under 22ft. No height issues. May need leveling blocks. Can fill water with their hose. Good WiFi. Security. Possibly electric. Use showers, toilets, kitchen, computers inside. Pay for laundry option. Nice folks work there. $25,000 per night for two people. Dog okay in yard or out front. Across from Art City and Black Sheep hostels. Quiet area at night. Nearby cafes, good Italian food, walk to metro, Éxito, laundry and Home Center.
