Report Check-InThe road is done now so no more closings. Only damage from the landslides due to rainfall past months.
Report Check-InThere is a gate roughly around this spot that may be closed during the hours posted. We happened to pass it around 11:30 on Tuesday and it was open. No one pulled us over or stopped us later either. It took us about 5-6 hours from Tarija to Villamontes. The road is mostly pretty good, surprisingly so. Past Villamontes to Puerto Sucre near the border with Paraguay there is maybe 20 km of gravel road with pretty deep tracks that having good clearance would be best but not necessary.
Report Check-InIt was open in a thursday morning, I guess its a matter of luck. The road condition in general its good, there are some tricky parts, but that's ok for all kind of vehicles.
Report Check-InIt was closed too on a thursday afternoon . The guy said it would open at 6 pm until 7 am the next day! otherwise from villamontes it was all fine!
Report Check-InIt took an easy 5 hours on a Sunday. Not much traffic and unpaved parts are in good condition.
