Latest Check-Ins

Checking in to say this is still closed. Arroyo Honda Preserve is open again on select weekends but the vista point is still blocked with concrete barriers.

Report Check-In

Closed - but there is a large gravel space just before the closed off ramp where I stayed with several other cars and trucks

Report Check-In

Road is closed due to construction. Scheduled to reopen on February 11, 2023.

Report Check-In

road is still closed, so no access to this spot.

Report Check-In

Temporarily closed after heavy storms. All local state parks are closed as well except Refugio State Beach. Gravel turnout a 2.5mi N of Refugio on SouthBound side of the road is a good spot, if not a bit windy and noisy right next to the highway. We were directed here after being told Arroyo Qemada was a bit “tweaky” by state law enforcement patrolling the area.

Report Check-In

Try to stay here but road was closed. Would have been an amazing spot with beautiful view. Hope that the closure is not permanent

Report Check-In

This is a eautiful place to stay overnight. There plaques with history info.

Report Check-In

Busy place, but good place to stay. Found a level place and stayed the night with no hassles. Rest stops are all closed so lots of trucks, RVs, and cars stayed overnight.

Report Check-In

Great spot for the night. The views were pretty, and I took a walk on the train tracks. There were lots of other overnighters too.

Report Check-In

Windy all night and a little road noise but the views make up for both. Great spot for a sleep and 4/4 bars on Verizon!

Report Check-In

Great spot for watching sunset and spending the night. Arrived at sunset on a Friday and there was plenty of space. The road noise from the highway is soft and consistent. Truckers pulling in around 5am woke us up and left engines running but overall a really awesome find!

Report Check-In

Verizon ok. Nice spot next to ocean. Popular with plenty of other rvs and cars parked.

Report Check-In

A diamond in the rough of places to crash for the night on the coast of California without getting harassed by cops or locals. Great views and plenty of spaces, the train and retired 101 bridges are cool

Report Check-In

As previously mentioned. Lots of room. Plenty of rigs spent the night. Be aware it’s a popular spot with truckers. They come and go all night, leaving their engine on.

Report Check-In

Stayed 1 night here with plenty of other vans and trucks. Amazing location and views

Report Check-In

Great stop for overnight, even for big RV. No noise from the trafic and beautiful ocean view.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot, had a great nights sleep. Most of the stretch is on a slope but if you can drive to the top close to the freeway on ramp it flattens out. Although it’s close to the highway the cars were pretty quiet, just ambient noise. I only woke up once because people were hanging out outside. Nothing harmful, just a bit noisy. Definitely a popular place. There are trash cans so please keep this place nice!

Report Check-In

As described great spot for a night with beautiful sunset/ Sunrise

Report Check-In

beautiful view to wake up to. Noisy from freeway, but it is well worth it

Report Check-In

Great place to stop for a day or two. There’s a slight hill at first, but keep driving to reach the flat overlook. No bathrooms and you’re on a cliff by railroad, but theres some good energy here. Incredible ocean overlook with abandoned oil rigs in distance.

Report Check-In

Beautiful ocean view. One way with parking on both sides. Can hear light highway traffic.
3 bars Verizon

Report Check-In

stopped here in 2020 and stopped here again this year. quiet on a little bit of a hill near the train tracks and has a great hiking trail. good for one or two nights. some traffic from the highway, were a couple people that looks like they might have been here for a few days.

Report Check-In

Basic pull off. It’s close to the freeway but surprisingly quiet still. I parked up towards the end of the lot and had it all to myself cause the semi trucks can’t turn around this far up. There were a couple of trees to hammock from as well. Waves are small but ride able at the right tide. There are a lot of flat spots. Good cell service (Verizon) loads videos and music well. Can fit any size of rig. Asphalt parking lot. Sunset was awesome. Trash cans, but no bathrooms

Report Check-In

plenty of space to park whatever set up you have. a bit of highway noise, but it’s muted a little by the hill that separates the road from the turnoff. two trash cans available but nothing else. lots of people going in and out, but as a solo female digital nomad, I prefer to have other people nearby so I was comfortable with it. Great cell service, even better view (like seriously stunning), and easy to get in and out of. I’ll actually be staying another night here because it’s such a great base camp.

Report Check-In

Gorgeous view! Parked with rear doors of our van open to the Pacific Ocean. Serene and magnificient!

Report Check-In

Long stretch of a pull off the pch. Fits plenty of big rigs. Part of the area is sloped thats behind a small hill and protects from highway noise. Absolutely beautiful place to wake up in. It was very windy last night, but not sure of the normal weather. Great place to stay a night or maybe a few. Havent seen any enforcement. The cliff is about 100 feet up from the ocean and there is no rail so he mindful with children and pets. There are train tracks below, but we didnt hear any go by so not sure if theyre still in use.

Report Check-In

Excellent spot, plenty of space, and all campers extremely respectful and quiet. Beautiful views and good cell service. Gets windy at night, so if you can find a space next to the hill it will limit the swaying of your rig.

Report Check-In

Spacious, had a good one night. No restrooms. AT&T full signal.

Report Check-In

Beautiful. Watched the sun **rise** over the ocean (sort of) to the east because of the curvature of the coast. Great spot. Most level ground is right near beginning of the vista pullout, it becomes more sloped upward the further you drive.

Report Check-In

I pulled in late and found a spot right away. The view even at night was awesome and as a solo female van camper I felt super safe and slept great! There were other cars, vans and trailers, everyone was quiet and kept to themselves. Woke up in the morning to a lovely view and spent time making my coffee and hanging out for a bit with now problem! I would totally stay here again and recommend!

Report Check-In

Awesome spot! Got here before sunset with pick up and 22ft trailer. Pulled out chairs and chilled for the night. Lots of Sprinters, cars, RVs staying the night, no problem. Some highway noise, but lovely place to sleep. You can get to the beach, but it’s not easy

Report Check-In

Great spot. Some road noise, but dirt hill helps. Beautiful sunsets.

Report Check-In

pros🌱: great spot! parked our 24ft rv here for the night! barely any highway noise, no rowdy people.

great views to take photos and explore the beach! woke up to the sunrise 😊🌟

beautiful vista of the ocean! railroad tracks below ... seals playing in the water!
other people appear to be boon docking here..saw a little barbeque and people making themselves comfortable for the night. trash cans available.

Report Check-In

we have spent many nights here passing through. watched whales and dolphins from our van. only problems are big rig trucks running engines or generators making it noisey sometimes

Report Check-In

slept here one night with no issues. it was a Saturday so there were lots of other vans parked as well but theirs plenty of room for many vehicles. highway noise is very minimal since theirs a hill blocking much of the noise. view of the ocean is nice with a decent sunset. theirs a small beach down by the train tracks too. not sure why this location is marked as closed because I would recommend it as a good spot.

Report Check-In

Decent and free for one night. Several big rigs on the left. Campers on the right. A large dirt hill muffles the highway noise. No one bothered us. We should have parked on the right upon entering- either in the first spot or up at the end. Semparkbehind and kept engine running a

Report Check-In

Nice vista point with ample of flat parking, nice ocean view as well. There is road noise as right beside highway but nothing extreme. Couple van’s and cars overnight with no issues. Would definitely recommend this spot as so many parking restrictions elsewhere in area.

Report Check-In

We felt safe, a lot of RVs, Vans and Trucks. A bit on a hill, but nice with a little view.

Report Check-In

the view here is amazing! there's a couple other vanlifers, a couple rvs and a half dozen truckers here right now. I also have full service on tmobile which I wasn't expecting at all. there's some trash cans here but otherwise no services.

Report Check-In

We slept here for 3 nights, great spot! If you sleep next to the hill you cant hear the traffic that much and if its windy youre more secluded. Felt very safe here.

Report Check-In

no overnight camping heavy law enforcement 2 in the morning

Report Check-In

we were a bit surprised by this spot after rolling in late in the darkness.
woke up to great views after a quiet nite of sleep.

There are railroad tracks right next to the road, but have yet to see a train.

Great spot to spend the night

Report Check-In

Easy pull in with many places to stop. Nice view of the ocean in the morning. Can be noisy if a lot of semis are around with their engines on. Would recommend this location in terms of “sleepability” compared to the rest area 6 miles away.

Report Check-In

3 bars of Verizon 4G. There is beach access at North End under railroad bridge is stairs that leads down to Creek and Beach. All other info listed is accurate. Can be busy!

Report Check-In

Beautiful place. Not as loud as we thought it would be. Beautiful view.

Report Check-In

Great place to stay. Where here with several campers. Because high wall just a Little noise from hwy. No beach access.

Report Check-In
