Description

We had a tour to the scarlet macaws with Raul and could stay overnight on the property of his family. The tour is 50US$ (not per person, it is the lump sum per group). The camping was free. If needed electricity can be provided. Internet is available in an Internet Cafe not far from this place. Friendly and welcoming people. It is best to contact Raul in advance to make sure he is there.

The season for the macaws typically is from beginning of december til march/april.

Latest Check-Ins

We did not stay here or use his guide service but we were told that Raul is not paying the visitors fee for his guests to see the Macaws. I can not confirm this is true. This is a community fee that goes towards protecting their habitat and maintaining the trails. If using his guiding service please make sure he stops by the ticket place and pays the $15BZ per person fee.

Report Check-In

We had a great tour with Raul, enjoying multiple sightings of the scarlet macaws and swimming in the river. Raul was really knowledgeable and informed us about plenty of things about the macaws but also his community. He is an official guide which is the reason he could be a bit more expensive than other in the area, but it’s worth it. We paid 50usd for our family (2kids + 2 adults).
We were also able to overnight in our van at his property for free
